| Donnington - SPOILER Well, the first few laps had me on the edge of my seat, I was thinking that we were going to get a close race to the end with a heap of potential winners. The result was an easy win to Rossi - Gibernau 3rd.. and Edwards 2nd!!! Good to see him come good - better late than never Nicky got 4th and Bayliss 5th. I'm hoping not to see too many more easy wins like this in the rest of the season..

| Re: Donnington - SPOILER I thought it was great to finally see Colin do something in MotoGP, but I really have to wonder how many more times he will finish in front of Sete.
Not because he's uncapable of doing so, but because Sete needs all the points he can get.
I'm honestly surprised he wasn't told to move over for Sete at the end of the race.
If Sete fails to win the championship by four points, what's gonna happen?
I would have preferred the podium to be Sete, Colin then Nicky, but this was a good result anyway. |

| Re: Donnington - SPOILER Terrible terrible race....Biaggi...where were you?!?! At least Edwards got a podium and Gibernau kept the rubber on the ground this time. Nice performance by Hayden, although I wanted to see him on the podium more than Edwards. Now I don't know what to do...4 weeks of no moto gp! |

| Re: Donnington - SPOILER I thought Max Biaggi would be amped to compete in this race, since he was only a point away, but he just regressed as the race went along. Rossi just ran away from everybody.
Although I was definitely pulling for Edwards, I think that Sete's team should've helped him by telling Colin to cede 2nd to Sete. I wonder if that type of stuff happens as much in bike racing as in F1? |

Today, during the sighting lap I felt that the gearbox was not perfect but, given that we had the same problem during the today’s warm up, and that they told me it was sorted out, I told myself it was just an impression. But it was not and I understood it during the warm up lap. I had a thought to enter the pit and change the bbike, but it would be even worse in terms of time lost and maybe I wouldn’t earn these four points that allow me to keep the second position in the Championship. After such two great races in Rio and Sachsenring it is really disappointing to make only twelve. I’ll try to quickly put all this behind and to look forward to the Brno race, in three weeks. Ciao!

| Re: Donnington - SPOILER The more I drink about it, WTF did Colin say? "To all the naysayers, Up Yours!?" Dude, when did he become the new spokesman for 7-Up? I'm happy to see him on the podium, but you'd think that someone with his record and ability would have a bit more cooth than that! It was funny to Rossi and Colin dry humping in the paddock after the race. But he's got balls to say that he's back.
Okay back to drinking.....
Go Nicky!!!! |

Go Nicky!!!! | Pretty much what you heard is what you get from Colin. He's always been pretty straight forward with some awesome one liners. With the confidence he's gained here and hopefully the front end worked out like he wants it I have a feeling he'll be near the front the rest of the year. |

Go Nicky!!!! | You should try and find some of his post race interviews when he was in Superbike, he's a heckler
What I found funny today was that Speed recap show. I'm watching the highlights and the announcer spends just as much time on Nicky as they do Colin, actually more on the kid. Colin podiumed today, Nicky did not. Colin is also 4th in the points. Hopkins is also an American and he had some great passes today, if he would have had better tires he would have been very close to the front, but they didn't mention his race.
But Nicky is the American Motorcycling Media's darling, it's like they don't want to talk about anyone else John Hopkins, beat three Honda V5s today on an inferior bike, he bested Barros, the Bitch, and Tamada.

| Re: Donnington - SPOILER John Hopkins is lucky to even still have a GP ride. He's not going to amount to anything more than a backmarker.
Yeah, Colin beat Nicky today. He has one podium, Nicky has two. He's ahead of Hayden in points right now, but I'll bet he won't be at the end of the season.
I like Edwards as much as the next guy, but there is so much hype around him it's sick. |

| Re: Donnington - SPOILER If you know or have had anything to do with Colin, you'd know that the hype is warranted. He's not only a freak of a bike racer ( and once he got 100% happy with the set up of the bike, he was always gonna be up there) he's a fukin great guy as well. Not just saying hello to people and being nice, but more than that. I've had the pleasure of spending some time with him, and it really is amazing the interest he takes and the laid back attitude and how he justtells it like it is. Then, a week or so later, I get an sms from him from an airport after testing, saying "wassup?" It's one thing to pretend to be happy and interested in people that have nothing to do with you, it's another to go out of your way to do that sort of stuff. Go to the ceracing.com website today and see the frenzy of well wishes to Colin after last night. That doesn't happen by accident. It's a real family feeling over there.
Well done Col. Finally, the Tornado is back. |

Colin will be up on Nicky on everything by the end of the season. As far as all the hype around Colin....That's a bunch of bs. There's been far more hype around Nicky. I wish them well but believe that if Colin had been on the RCV for two years he'd be up there challenging for the championship. Plus he's one of the nicest guys you'll ever meet. Go Colin. |

Overall, not the most exciting race in the world, still fun to watch tho. |

Go Colin. | I have met Colin on a couple occasions, and have been a fan of his for years. I've watched him race the 250 in AMA, and when he was getting beat on the AMA Yamahas in Supersport and Superbike.
I was very happy to see Colin on the podium as I've been a fan of his for years - even when he sucked the big one in both AMA and WSB, but the overenthusiasm of his podium cracks me up.
He is a great person, but there is as much hype around him as any other racer. I just find it funny that so many bitch about other riders' hype, yet not about Edwards' hype.
There was more around Edwards last year when the whiners whined that he got shafted and he was gonna kick ass on the 'Priller, there was more hype this year when he "finally got the ride he deserved". Is the hype warranted? I guess that's up to who you ask, as he hasn't done anything to speak of in GP but this one podium.
Hayden has done more in his two short years in Europe learning new tracks, new tires and a new environment on top of a new bike.
I'll be happy to see the both of them in the top five at the end of the year, but will gladly bet that Hayden comes out on top. |

Behind Capirossi in seventh American John Hopkins (Suzuki) was eighth ahead of Alex Barros on the factory HRC Honda.
Hopkins rated his performance as one of his “best ever races” after charging from 16th on the grid.
Hopkins made some daring passing moves on Capirossi and Barros and only slackened his pace over the final laps after punishing his front tire with his superb effort.
“That was one of my best rides because I didn’t have a great starting position because of problems with the qualifying tires,” Hopkins said.
“My crew chief told me to stay wide on turn one at the start and I made some places there and then started picking guys off one by one. It’s a good feeling to get a result like this.”
Hopkins raced with a painful left ankle that has tendon damage because of the metalwork inserted to repair the injury he suffered in a pre-season Supercross crash.
Hopkins teammate Kenny Roberts Jr finished 17th and a lap down after an uninspiring race after selecting a softer tire.

| Re: Donnington - SPOILER BDA, how much you wanna bet? Besides the fact that Colin is on (besides the Bridgestones) the worst Honda out there, now he has his head sorted and the chatter/drive problems sorted, he'll be all over Rossi like white on rice. Plus, the new chassis that Nicky has had for 3 rounds now, that HRC told Colin will fix his chatter probs, will be on Colins bike too. We ain't comparing apples with apples, ( between their bikes) but I'm still willing to bet that Colin will whip Kentucky fried Nicky's arse. As a matter of fact, if he can keep the chatter probs in line, I rekon he'll go very close to being the first Honda in the points by the end of the championship. Bring it on. |
