Like Bake said, oil pans and headers are the "only" problems. My dad used to have a tubbed 66 Chevy II drag car with a "short stroke 350 (327)" and it needed big 1 7/8" headers to breathe up at 8k. Whoever built the car cut a bit of metal out of the shocktowers to use "fenderwell exit" headers. Actually, the header routing ended up being very good from a power standpoint. Much better than your average header even.
I've got a nice pic of me with a mullet standing in front of my 11 sec 68 ChevyII/Nova SS...but I ain't sharin' either.
