Re: Hopper on a Duc?

it would make sense, here is my theory...

hayden on the honda, good for the USGP
KRJR on the zook, good for the USGP
colin on the M1, good for the USGP
hopper on the duc, good for the USGP

The hayden and edwards situations are now concrete, I bet KR stays put and hopper gets the duc. You know the manufacturers would like to have an american rider for the return to the US for GP riding...

Sounds good to me

I think with the right bike under him (hopefully) Hopper can start being consistant.

Judging by Ducs performance this year, I'm not sure that the Duc is the "right bike."

Re: Hopper on a Duc?

That would be great for Hopper if the bike holds.

Ducati went from Contender to Also Raced within a year, wtf happened

Can you picture the Ducati press release next year if its Loris and Hopper. Two of the smalles people in the sport on the largest "looking" bikes. I'd laugh

but come when was the last time Suzuki and MotoGP win were said together? Ducati could be a very good move for him.

Re: Hopper on a Duc?

Latest amcn mag has an interesting read on the Duc and what happened this year. Says:
There's an increasing opinion among rival engineers that the fault lies with Ducati itself. Basically saying that it's the way Ducati build bikes. They use tubing instead of alloy, others have chassis's that go from the sterring head to the swingarm pivot hanging the engine underneath, while Duc just has a subframe up front and uses engine as a stressed member. and lots more stuff about the basic design of the Ducati and that if they wanna keep up, they're gonna have to itch the way they make bikes and join the Japs.

Re: Hopper on a Duc?

Bullshit. Just because they don't have a "me too" frame doesn't mean they can't compete.

Re: Hopper on a Duc?

True, they ARE competing, just with not much success. It went into more stuff about the engine etc as well, but fuk, I can't just type out the whole article now can I? Haha With the frame, they said that Its very hard to adjust the swingarm pivot point without redesigning the engine itself. And about controlled flex, which can be engineered into a chassis with different wall thicknesses, internal bracing etc, ducati can do the same with the swingarm or the front subframe, but engineer flex into the engine casings, and you'll have oil everywhere quicker than CEII can make an excuse for running nowhere. Hahaha
