Can't wait to hear what Mladin has to say about that... Coming in, learning the tracks and winning it all, yyyyeeeaaaaahhhhhh...
Michelins aren't gonna save you next year my man. The AMA is way tougher than anyone gives it credit for! |

Sorry I think Hodgson can ride but he isn't that good. If he thinks he is going to fly over, ride the Duc and beat Mladin, he has another thing coming to him.
Good luck to him though. |

| Re: is this guy serious? (Hodgson) it almost as if the guy thinks the AMA is a cakewalk or something....maybe he'll wake up after the first couple of races when he finds himself behind in points to Mladin, Jake, BBoz, EBoz, Miguel and maybe even Tommy Hayden!
this ain't WSBK circa 2003 when you only had to beat Xaus, your teammate, Neily-boy!

| Re: is this guy serious? (Hodgson) I didn't interpret what he said that way. I don't think he is expecting to do any of that, but rather those are his stated goals. Maybe he is expecting to do that well. Racers have big egos. You have to be supremely confident to race at the speeds they do.
Right before I left for college after high school, I was working at a gas station. While I was fixing this old dude's tire he asked me what I was doing for schooling and such. After I told him my plans he told me to always aim high. That way, even if I fall short I will have still done pretty well. I try to stick w/ that. Perhaps Hodgson is doing the same.
Either way, I think it's good for the AMA.

And the quotes look like excerpts from larger statements, which can lead to misinterpretation.
But it's still fun to speculate.

Face it, the petronas team was no where to be found that year and no one else was getting good michelins. So it was him and xaus.
On top of all of that, I really don't think the 999 is as strong as people think against a new Gix1000 and a year old fireblade. I just don't buy it... |

How can he honestly say he did not enjoy a thing about his team or his races. Does he not love his sport? Just let me sit on the damn thing and I would be very happy |

It's like the week after I ride in the Smokies...everything at home feels like a goat path...

On top of all of that, I really don't think the 999R is as strong as people think against a new Gix1000 and a year old fireblade. I just don't buy it... | Factory 999R was damn nearly beaten in WSBK by a "privateer" 1000RR when the tires were equal, a 1000RR which started the season with mostly stock parts (TKR were even running stock wheels and calibers in final tests before the first race). The 999R (Monstermob was pretty much factory effort too in BSB 2004) got nowhere close factory I4's in AMA/BSB title chase in 2004 and I don't see any reason why they would do better in 2005, on the contrary. |

TKR really got that 1000rr going though and I think next year CV might take the championship. I think it'll be a good season next year in AMA. I actually hope that Team Yoshi/Suzuki have some trouble with the new gsxr1000 but thats unlikely seeing as how good those guys are. If they get it figured out quick then Mladin might run away with stuff, if they don't then I hope Honda gets some good stuff done this winter on that 1000rr. they had the hp advantage this year but the weight brought them down. Zemke is the future of honda and they gotta treat him as such and with lighter bike even at the same power as last years I think he can beat Mladin. The new gixxer just might be the problem though because that thing is gonna be sick right out of the box and then you have the best team massaging it into race form. The Honda still looks tons better.

| Re: is this guy serious? (Hodgson) I agree that I didn't interpret the remarks as if Nodgson thinks it's going to be a cakewalk over here. He's stating his goal. I don't think he'll do it; the competition is just too good. However, if he didn't at least convince himself that he could do it, he would need to get out of racing. A certain level of confidence is required to do what these guys do...
