| Re: FOGGY - I WOULD BEAT ROSSI Foggy: "I'd love to race against him, I just believe if I had a bike, and a team that did everything I wanted to do then I would beat him, that's just me. I have to believe that, I'm just being honest."
I think he just has the attitude that a winning racer needs. Not even a notion that he could be outclassed as a rider. He has his mind so well trained that the thought wouldn't even occur to him that he might get beat. And at that level, how could you possibly expect to win if you didn't think that way? |

| Re: FOGGY - I WOULD BEAT ROSSI Finally read the article....I found it to be pretty mild for King Carl...
But let's cut to the chase....Booth is just pissed because Foggy dissed his hero, the Texas Tortoise... Quote:
"It went down to the final round and it had been a bit of a battle for a couple of years between me and the American Scott Russell, so it was a great feeling to do it."
And Foggy's toughest rival? "I think I would go for Russell, more than (John) Kocinski or (Colin) Edwards. Russell, I think, was better than the others, he was the hardest one for me to race against."
| Booth.....you are like the #9 Special at the local Chinese takeaway.....cellophane noodles...easy to see through...

| Re: FOGGY - I WOULD BEAT ROSSI So it didn't piss you off that King Carl ranked the Tortoise a distant third behind the likes of Russell and Kocinski....

| Re: FOGGY - I WOULD BEAT ROSSI But... But... Russell??!!??
He was just some redneck from Georgia.
I met Scott Russell back in '93 when "Mr Daytona" meant something. He came to a (now defunct) SSA meeting for a meet and greet, I thought he was pretty cool. I lost a lot of respect for him, though, after what he did to Muzzy (as I suspect he did for himself). |

| Re: FOGGY - I WOULD BEAT ROSSI I can't see why Booth would be pissed. Whatever Foggy thought of his rivals back then was based on what they were doing back then. Colin says himself in his book that Carl was kickin his arse and he really needed to have a look at himself and get his **** together. BUT, Foggy decided to centre punch someone in the arse in the year Colin would have handed his arse to him on the RC51, first year out, with Carl on his beloved Duc. So he didn't get to see any more of Colin other than when Carl was winning. Doohan didn't win everything first few years out, and if someone that was the champ then had quit racing just as Doohan was getting it together, I doubt they'd rate Mick as their tuffest opponent either. Means sfa.
BUT, that Carl was said to have won coz he was on the Ducati, and that he switched to Honda and lost, says alot to me............... Rossi won on the Honda, THEN won on the yamaha. Rossi would have spanked Carl. If Carl needs to tell himself otherwise to be able to sleep, then so be it. But he's living in dream land. |

I'm sure he is used to it
Sook, I remember the '00 season. I remember which race Foggy went down, I have the footage of his wreck on VHS. Dumb wreck. I remember the first few races, if that was any indication, precious Foggy wouldn't have been a factor for the championship, he knew he was beat. Haga would have beaten him as well for points. Foggy's wreck was a reflection of him as a racer, pretty sad man. I'm glad the Petronas gig has been going so well for him |
