| Re: F1 Driver impressed with Moto GP damn that is pretty impressive, but I bet the lap times are still 25-30 seconds less than F1. But it's impressive none the less. |

It trips me how the 2 wheeled world so much looks like the 4 wheeled world... Very cool that the F1 guys think the GP bikes are interesting and not a toy...
Very cool link! |

| Re: F1 Driver impressed with Moto GP Pretty impressive that a bike hit a higher top speed than an F1 car. However, F1 cars have a slower top speed than our Champ cars.
That said, here's a camparo of the three tracks both series run along with the best lap times in each:
Suzuka:
Schumacher - 1.36.125
Capirossi - 2.04.604
Catalunya:
Schumacher - 1.20.355
Biaggi - 1.44.523
Sepang:
Montoya - 1.38.049
Barros - 2.04.376
There's a lot to be said for four big contact patches and a low CG. |

| Don't forget the 1300lbs worth of down force they generate at 100mph. Tough to contend with that. |

| Re: F1 Driver impressed with Moto GP Yeah, when the downforce generated is enough to drive the car upside down, it's a big help. If the FIA would allow full slicks the times would be 5 or so seconds quicker still.
Schumi had a rough start this year, but with the release of the F2003, and his renewed fight, everyone else will have to settle for fighting for 2nd. |

| Re: F1 Driver impressed with Moto GP Ya, the cost has gotten out of control a touch. They basically limited the technology some in hopes of getting the cost down to draw new teams. Well, now it takes X-amount more worth of development to get those few precious tenths. Still the pinnacle of 4-wheel racing. Awesome cars and drivers. |
