| Daytona 200 and Superbike Races ***SPOILER*** Just a reminder...the AMA Superbike Championship kicks off the 2005 season with the Daytona 200 this Saturday, 3/12. SPEED TV will be telecasting all the events live starting at 11:00 a.m. EST with 5-1/2 hours of coverage!
New changes for this year's event...the 200 has now been changed to the Formula Extreme class and the Superbike class will run a shorter race. The course was also shortened to 2.95 miles to help reduce tire problems.
Time to stock up on the beer...it's racing time.
EDIT: The Superstock race will be shown live on Thursday, 3/10, at 3:45 p.m. EST, followed by the Supersport race at 4:45 p.m. EST.
EDIT2: Event Schedule

Crap. I will not be able to watch it on tv that day.
That is because I will be watching it LIVE and in person. I will be on the infield soaking up the rays, oogling at all of the barely dressed women, and..... oh and watching the bikes as they hit turn four going 150+mph. I can't wait. I am also riding to Daytona tomorrow to look at some of the custom builders. |

You'll be in snowpants and sweaters and parkas and wooly hats (sorry sheep, fact of life) and mittens with your name on em with the string that goes through the sleeves!!!
What fun is that?? I mean Jeez, the forecast is 66 deg Saturday. Will they even race in those Florida extremes?? |

The high tomorrow in Daytona will be 59 degrees. I gotta get my longjohns on before I make the trip. That is damn cold on a bike. Burrrrrr..... Quote: |

The FXtreme bikes shouldn't be quite as demanding on tires. They've also changed the layout so hopefully that will help.

SuperStock - Hayden | Hayden? What are you talking about? Everyone knows that all Haydens are no talent ass clowns.
I'll go for a DuHamel Double - it would be cool to see him do it "backwards", as he's the only one to do it at all.
Supersport - I'd like to see Hacking take that
As for Superstock, I guess I'll agree on a Hayden, but I'll specify the old one - Tommy.
I'll also bet both Haydens run up front on the pace, not circulating with their skirt blowing in the wind back mid-pack or worse. |

In the Superbike race, I wouldn't count out any of the factory guys just yet. Even Ducati has a chance now that it's a sprint race. |
