| Ouch, Mat take it easy bro... From Soup Taking Aim At Current State of Affairs Quote: |
Scott got the name because he won the 200 five times with strong Superbike fields. He still is MR DAYTONA and will be in my eyes and I'm sure in many others until Miguel can win another two 200's on a Superbike or I can win another three. Maybe the title MR 4.25 would be more appropriate for the latest winner. I would be embarrassed to hold up five fingers after that.
| Daaaannng... He's just bitter really. I mean the man never has anything nice or positive to say unless it's about himself. Never been a Matt fan, I respect his career, but still not a fan |

| Re: Ouch, Matt take it easy bro... not a mladin fan either... BUT, duhammel can't claim mr, daytona IMHO. Yeah, he won it, but against who? On a superior factory backed bike racing against those that practically ran supersport bikes.
The politics behind the superbike race and the 200 are beyond me. Dunlop has issues with tires holding up and the org changes the entire spectrum that is daytona. You can tell dunlop has some pull at the ama decision making table...
But I am confused, wasn't mladin one of the ones bitching about running superbikes for 200 miles at daytona LAST year? Unsafe, etc, then this year he complains that they don't get to run!? Which is it mang??? |

| Re: Ouch, Matt take it easy bro... yeah I don't particularly like his attitude at all. I like guys like Duhamel and Zemke who always look like they have fun out there. Sure they get paid a buttload but I don't think they look at a second or third place like failure towards their employers as Mat does. Those 2 ride more like those privateers who have no money but just want to be out there racing and having fun.
I kind of agree with the Mr. Daytona thing. Russel is still Mr. Daytona, I don't think its a name you can just transfer to someone because they've won it the same number of times. Its his name, they can think of something else for Miguel if he wants a name for his accomplishments.

| Re: Ouch, Matt take it easy bro... Who cares, it was just matty boy. He is nothing but another overblown islander that thinks he knows everything about everything. Yet every time he opens his mouth, nothing but **** comes out - just like the others.
He has never been good enough to ride two different types of bikes at the same time, and is bitter and jealous of those with the talent.
So he has a strong team and is riding well right now, BFD. Any time he screws up he cries and makes excuses. He's nothing but a crybaby dick.
Honda beat themselves last year by running two strong contenders on equal bikes, while Suzuki gave everything to one rider. Honda won more races, but because they were split between two riders they lost the championship. Suzuki did it right last year, but it looks like they've gone the Honda route this year. Well, until mid-season when matty boy bitches about Ben and Aaron getting equal treatment and taking points away from him.
Miguel can still beat him straight up head to head on equal machinery - both superbike and 600. Even that islander knows it, is jealous, and has to pop off about it because he thinks someone actually values his opinion.
And if he rode for Yamaha, Dean Adams would be in wet dream heaven. Adams sucks mladin dick every chance he gets, and worships at the house of Yamaha.
Miguel has beaten Russell in a straight fight at Daytona. Mladin has not.
Miguel has beaten matty boy more times than not in a straight fight at Daytona. |

| Re: Ouch, Matt take it easy bro... I am not taking away the fact that the 2005 version of the 200 was won by Miguel DuHamel who has won four of them previously, but am alluding to the fact that such a lame race with two factory 600's racing a bunch of privateers should not be the way that Scott Russell's MR DAYTONA title should be tied.
I've rarely agreed with Mat or his "cup half empty" negative outlook, but the dude has a point here.
Mat (for once) makes some good points in that article, about changes to the reg's and classes, from a race-fans viewpoint anyway, IMO. |

Bingo, that's exactly it! He was leading the charge to boycott the superbikes at Daytona all together last year, now he's wondering why they raced a lower class? |

I agree with Mladin about the privateers. Just Privateers and no factory bikes would make for an interesting race. Pay the privateers some decent money to make the class grow. As it stands now the factory bikes take all the money. So who did the factory riders beat, a bunch of working stiffs going broke doing something they love. Don't seem right to me.
I still think WSB is the best racing to watch on TV. Why can't the AMA doing something similiar ? |

| Re: Ouch, Mat take it easy bro... I would have loved to see mat, yates, spies, hodgson, bostrom, tommy and roger lee all in the 200, and I don't get why they weren't in it. There was a privateer on a duc 748 (you could hear it coming every lap), so I don't get why ducati can't run a factory team...same with all the other brands.
Regardless of the fx200, the superbike series seems like it could be quite competitive this year...I hope it's close.
MotoGP is still by far the coolest to watch though.
