I received this off of the news wire at the news paper at which my wife works. Holy crap, It looks like Nicky is going Hollywood!!!


Repsol Honda's Nicky Hayden, one of MotoGP's most promising young riders, announced Friday he is retiring from the sport, effective immediately. The early morning statement sent shockwaves through the upper echelons of MotoGP, particularly since Hayden ended the winter testing period as the fastest Honda rider of the Jerez test, and the only rider to dip into the 1 minute 39 second bracket; nearly one second inside the pole time from last year. Hayden's surprise announcement dashes all hopes of a podium finish for Honda at the upcoming Spanish Grand Prix Jerez, as teammate Max Biaggi's performance in the pre-season has been poor. Representatives for the rider have yet to comment on the sudden departure, but rumours are already circulating that it has something to do with a recent interview in which Hayden hinted at a contract with a major Hollywood studio.
