| Re: First round of MotoGP *SPOILER* I think we saw a pretty ugly side of Rossi tonight. The move he pulled was pretty amatuerish, but it happens. However his insistance of rubbing it in after the race was, I think, showing him to be seriously lacking in good sportsmanship.
I hope he cops some kind of penalty for it. If it was anyone else but Rossi there would be no doubt as to whether he'd cop a penalty. |

| Re: First round of MotoGP *SPOILER* Yeah I didn't get to watch it but I did listen to the race. If I'm not mistaken, wasn't he trailing Sete almost the whole race? I think those two will never resolve thier issues!
And yes, anyone else and there would have probably been some kinda penalty handed down. |

I thought Colin's race sims were better than everyone else? I thought his race setup was the shiznit and he was just messing around testing tires while everyone else was trying their hardest? Wasn't he the man to beat after every test because of some super secret time sheet that showed him to actually be somewhat near the pace?
He can't even outpace the Kawasakis on the world champion bike!
Practice makes permanent and when you test, practice and qualify at the back that's where you will always be - excuses or no.
That said, Nicky needs to start finishing races, even if that means riding like a complete pussy and finishing in front of Edwards.
As for Rossi, I like to see a rider push it past the limits (even if that means crashing at the front), but what he did at the end went too far. He should be stripped of this win.

It was Rossi's responsibility to make the pass cleanly and legally. When he went in there completely out of control and slammed into Gibernau just to make the corner he was very much in the wrong.
And his post-race attitude? Rossi has been getting worse every year, and just showed how big an asshole he is.
Sete was in the lead, rode his line and was slammed into by the overtaking rider.
Rossi would have crashed and not finished the race had he not used Gibernau as a berm.
MotoGP won't have the sack to do anything to Rossi, unfortunately.

Looked more like a motocross race for a split second. Sete ran an awesome race!
Nicky was looking great, sucks that he crashed out, but he'll be right back at the front again.

He couldn't have made the corner on that line and at that speed. He used Sete as a bumper. Just shoving his bike in between Sete and the apex.
You could tell he was expecting the collision, his left foot was off the bike going into the corner. |

You could tell he was expecting the collision, his left foot was off the bike going into the corner. | Did you and I even watch the same race Rossi adjusted his foot several times the exact same way on that corner several times through the race. Not to mention both are world class(best) racers and are able to adjust their lines to suit passing and collision avoidence. I think just about everyone here have way to much brand loyalty. That was an awsome race. For 2 riders to be side by side in the last corner and to bump, one has to be an ass and the other is the hero. Give me a friggin break. They were racing. Gibby's The sportsman he always has been and Rossi is no different. Pushing %110 don't make you a cheater. I say congrats to both for making one hellava race for me to watch. If you don't like this stile of racing maybe some of you guys should watch drag racing instead.

If anything, this will make the rest of the season even better, asSete will want to beat Rossi even more now.

| Re: First round of MotoGP *SPOILER* Great race to start the season, for sure.
Rossi, yup frist time I've seen him rub anything in to someone other than Biaggi. To be honest though, I like the contraversy and his new atittude. You can't be friends with your rivals. He's the best and it is up to everyone else to prove him otherwise. Nice to see the "nice guy" persona go away a little.
Sete - Awesome race
CEII - As expected
Hayden - Sucks, but you knew it was gonna happen
Bayliss - Alright considering
Biaggi - You are a flippin tool |

| Re: First round of MotoGP *SPOILER* It was a great race. I thought the move in the last turn by Rossi was superb. Sete didn't adjust for having been beaten into the corner at that point and hit Rossi not the other way around. I think it would be kinda hard not to go a bit wide finishing the corner after being hit like that. It's part of racing and if this is a sign as to how the rest of the season is going to be then I am sure no one will want to miss even a second of any of the races.
Now if Nicky could finish the damn race...... |

It was Sete's corner and Rossi shouldn't have tried stuffing it in there. Has nothing to do with what brands of motorcycles they were on. Close racing is one thing; what happened in that last corner was another.

Seriously though, at that level of the sport it's a bit different than club racing. You would expect some contact, and some aggresive manuvers. These guys have to adjust, and they most often do. If Rossi was a rookie and did that same thing, you know Dorna and Sete's team would be screaming (just like everyone did to Hopkins two years ago) but when it's the best two riders in the sport, you let them race and settle it amongst themselves. |

With the level of racing they are doing sometimes a little devience is needed. For the most part Sete and Val keep their heads. Racing is racing and i'm pretty sure this season won't hinge on 5 points. You can piss and moan about a pass, but it was a pass and it did win the race. Sete's a man and he's going to suck it up and push all the harder next time. He's not going to Biachi about it. Something happens in the spur of the moment and you have a split second to check your ego. While you leave yours at the door, Val wins World Titles. Oh and on a side note I wish Hayden would keep it on 2
and put at least one American up on the box. |

Right now Nicky can't use the thing between his ears the way it's supposed to. He had a comfortable podium position and no hope for more at the time he crashed due to how far back he'd fallen. Not very smart at all to toss it at the time he did. You can't convince me that was a smart move on his part. There's a time to push and a time not to.
I like CE and will keep cheering for him (and expect more out of him than he's shown the last while) but will never fault him for not pushing it beyond his limits and tossing it time after time...
As far as Rossi and Sete.....let em race. I've never been that big a fan of Rossis and cheered for Sete last year, but it's kind of nice seeing him show a bit of attitude. Should be a GREAT year of racing!!! |
