Barros - Interesting Article

I didn't know some of this as I didn't start following until the 2003 season.

Alex was given an RCV for the last four races, won four of them and got on the rostrum in the other two.
I know what Julian meant, but thats damn confusing for those not in the know...

Alex got a RCV at the end of 2002 coming off the NSR500, much to the dismay of Capirossi (they were teamates at West Honda Pons), who wanted it as well and deserved it I think. But going to Ducati for 2003, no way was honda giving him one (barros ends up on a yamaha in 2003, so that in of itself is funny).

Anyway, with 4 races to go, he gets the RCV, promptly wins 2 races and podiums the other 2. He then went on to suck on the M1 for 2003... Coming back to the factory RCV in 2004 and sucking again. Back on the customer RCV in 2005, he seems more comfortable in riding what he is given, rather than trying to develop the bike...

Re: Barros - Interesting Article

It's funny to hear how people discount Barros on his riding ability. The man can get the job done. It was saddening to see how 2003 went for him and now he's back with Sito Pons, so he'll be happy and perform very well this year. I'm gonna say he's taking 3rd in the championship, behind Rossi and Gibernau.
