| Re: Why no Catalunya smack...? Well, each to his own I guess. I always enjoy it. Most of my magazines I throw out, but I've kept every Cycle Canada since I started subscribing about 3 years ago. I like that it isn't too biased toward any particular genre and looks at the sport as a whole. THey cover racing (on and off-road) touring,(Max Burns' column is always good) cruising, sport, custom, whatever. And their special interest pieces are what make the mag; you might not enjoy reading about an old guy in BC that restores Indians, but I do. It's not a good magazine for the shitter; most of the articles take longer to read than the 10 minutes that I spend on the can. It's also not a great magazine if you want to read about which new 1000cc sportbike get's the best laptime at Willow... though they do some of that too.
Pretty hard to beat the style of a good Brit' mag though; my fave is TWO. One guy in there was describing the weak torque of the MV F4: "...it couldn't pull the cock off a chocolate mouse." I laughed for 2 days straight. Colin Edwards humor column is pretty good too, always worth a chuckle. |
