| Max at it again. Max causing problems again...
What's up with Max doing all this Cr@p ...running into Nicky and now two incidents on the same weekend..and WTF is up with him doing practice starts on the track in an area like that and the cruising around after doing a crappy qual time....acting like a road block for others while circulating on the race line....
The conclusion of today's MotoGP qualifying session at Assen saw Marco Melandri and Max Biaggi clash in very public fashion - the Italians colliding at low speed at the final chicane after an angry Melandri cut across Biaggi's front wheel.
Over to Marco...
"Yeah I'm really happy about this (third) position on the grid but I'm a little bit disappointed that I lost my (last) qualifying tyre lap," said the Movistar Honda rider. "I made a mistake when I tried to overtake Biaggi - he was in the middle of the track and had finished his qualifying tyre a few laps earlier, but this is racing - no problem.
"But I was very angry because during qualifying he stopped in the middle of the track (to do a practice start), at a point where normally you are in fifth gear, and I said to him 'you did a very stupid thing'. He was very angry and then tried to pull up beside me and tried to make contact with me.
"I then tried to do the last chicane fast to get a good lap time for my next lap, but he was in the middle of the track and we made some contact," said Melandri, who had threaded his way around Biaggi then cut across in front of him, breaking the Roman's clutch lever and fairing while gesturing in a 'what are you doing' way.
"For me this is ok, but some people around him come to me (afterwards) and grabbed my neck. This is crazy for a motorcycle racing. But anyway, things are looking positive and it's nice to be on the front row again," concluded Marco in a matter-of-fact manner.
Biaggi had earlier knocked another Italian, Franco Battaini, from his machine after rejoining the track right in front of him following an off track excursion, while several other riders complained that Max was cruising around on the racing line at the end of the session.
Biaggi, who qualified ninth with a best lap set on the 22nd out of 24 circulations, is yet to give his side of the incidents... |

| Re: Max at it again. On Friday 24 June, during the MotoGP qualifying practice, Italian rider number 3 Massimiliano Biaggi rode in an irresponsible manner, causing danger to other riders, which is an infraction to article 1.21.2 of the FIM Road Racing World Championship Grand Prix Regulations. For this infraction, the Race Direction has decided to penalize the rider with a fine of USD 5000.
- During the same session, Massimiliano Biaggi made start practice on the track before the chequered flag (infraction to Art. 1.21.17). For this, the Race Direction has decided to inflict upon the rider a fine of USD 1000.
- After the practice session, Mr Valerio Biaggi, holder of the pass nr I-1485, grabbed the rider nr 33 Marco Melandri by the throat, resulting in scratches. According to Art. 3.3.1.2 (action prejudicial to the interests of the sport), the Race Direction has decided to withdraw the permanent pass of Mr Valerio Biaggi for the rest of the year.
No appeal has been lodged.
The decision of the Race Direction is final. |

| Re: Max at it again. Didn't he do something quite similar last year?
Man, after all these years of begging and pleading to be on the factory Honda team only to be shown up consistently by some no-talent ass-clown he sure isn't helping his future out much.
Wonder where he'll be riding next year? |

| Re: Max at it again. Melandri, as he would later calmly explain, was upset that Biaggi had deliberately spoilt his last lap by cruising around in the middle of the circuit after having finished his own final run much earlier.
The Movistar Honda rider pulled alongside the #3 to remonstrate - and there may also have been previous gestures between the two leading up to that point - but Marco then cut across Biaggi's nose, at low speed, causing the pair to collide and Max to almost fall. The move was accompanied by a 'what are you thinking' gesture from the #33.
When Melandri returned to the pits for the post qualifying press conference, he would then be grabbed around the neck by a member of the Biaggi camp... oh, and it may well rain tomorrow |

| Re: Max at it again. He did the same thing at PI last year coming out of Siberia. A few riders pulled to the left (off the line) to practice some starts, but Biatchi, nah, he stops right on the line with a few riders siting up real quick and grabbing the brakes, then riding past looking at him shaking their heads, waving their arms etc etc. How hasn't someone just smacked him one and dropped him yet? Marco? Next time, just deck him. Tool.
How about Kagayama and Cordoso (? I think??) in wsbk too, came to blows, Kagayama apparently letting fly with secret Japanese Karate kick. haha and then Nieto etc, they've all gone "kung fu" on eachother. If only Sete had the balls to do this with Rossi in the first round. hahaha |
