| Chris Vermulen In Moto GP Chris Vermulen will be riding the Camel Honda RC211V in place of the injured Troy Bayliss in the upcoming Phillip Island race. It's a track that I'm sure He knows well. Any reason He wouldn't do well? Should be interesting to watch! |

HD | I seriously think Hopper has a complex about this. He has talent, more so than most in the field, but he likes to beat himself up and his manufacturer about the situation. He really needs to seperate himself from Suzuki who obviously put more efforts in AMA and WSBK than they do in MotoGP. I'd love to see him on a somewhat competitive bike that can at least finish more than half of the races. |

There's enough people out there like that.

Very low risk ride. And he is getting paid big bucks to ride around in the world's coolest trackdays. |

| Re: Chris Vermulen In Moto GP Its great news that Chris V is getting to do the las 3 rounds of MotoGp on tracks that he has as much experiance as anyone else on and Im really hoping he does well Im not trying to make excuses for him but I think its a bit much to expect him to be running right near the front on a bike he has never ridden before, I would think it would take more than the two days of practice before PI to fully adapt from a Superbike to a MotoGP bike. Having said that Im quietly optomistic that he will do pretty well |

Certainly a top 10 finish would be repectable considering the circumstances. I don't think anyone expects him to take a podium spot. Chris is a very talented, hard-charging rider and (I think) has what it takes to be one of Moto GP's future stars. |

But I can't see Chris doing much better than Shakey did. I hope otherwise, but I have heard recently the forks they use on that team are pure crap, and that's the trouble Bayliss has had all year and why Barros hasn't been up there as much as you'd expect on an RCV. Besides, a hell of a power step from what he's used to riding, and while PI will help him out with track knowledge, I just can't see him kickin too many goals. He's signed for GP next year anyway, so it doesn't really matter too much. |

Yeah, I thought the same thing. I'm sure he could have went to a better team with his talent.
Wonder why Suzuki can do so well in AMA, & WSB and not get it together in GP ? |

| Re: Chris Vermulen In Moto GP He didn't do too bad, start and mid race he was making up some ground overtaking 3 riders (1 at Sibera just below where I was sitting, me and the crowd went nuts), lead Hopkins around the track from about lap 8 through to the last one where Hopkins must have decided it would have been too much and took Chris on the last lap
Still a bloody good effort in my books for only just getting on the bike 2 days earilier and having only clocked up ~3 hours of seat time. |

| Re: Chris Vermulen In Moto GP dunno, they were saying on TV that CV is still in wsbk. I was told that it was a done deal with CV but as is the case with all this stuff, last minute things can change. Time will tell, but last I heard he was signed to Camel for next year. Beattie and McGee though said he was staying in wsbk. Time will tell. |
