| Laguna Hotels ? I will be booking a hotel/tickets/airfair today for MotoGP in July. Where is a decent place? I think I will be flying in from San Fran. I am not looking to spend much of course. I am not there for a vacation. I am here to some good racing. I don't want a flee bag hotel. But I also don't want a 5 star place either. Please give some suggestions.
Thanks... |

| Re: Laguna Hotels ? Is Gilroy, CA a bad drive from the racetrack? How long would it take to drive from there to the track with traffic?
I am realizing that getting the tickets and airfair is the easy part. Finding a room that is semi -close is the difficult part. The race is nine months away. I thought that I could find a place this fare out. I guess I was wrong.
Help....... |

| Re: Laguna Hotels ? Gilroy is about 30-45 minutes out by bike. By car is a different story. Probably won't have much trouble getting there, but the ride home will be a mess.
We got our rooms two weeks after this year's race and found that most of the travel agencies have already bought them up. You might try there but will pay a hefty price. Good luck! |

That was on bikes, a car would be murder!
Hope you get it all done, and enjoy the races.... we sure did. |

| Re: Laguna Hotels ? Well, it's done. I have event tickets, airline tickets, hotel confirmation, and car rental reservations. I am one happy camper. I can deal with a long drive for three days to and from the event. The races will be worth it. I am so excited. This will be my first motogp event and my second motorcycle event.
My friend that I am going with was shocked to see how much it will cost us. He paid over $1200 last time he went to the races at Laguna. I was able to use my company discounts for travel, lodging and car for the mear total of $600 each. I do not think that is bad since we will be coming from Florida for the event.
Man I can't wait. |

| Re: Laguna Hotels ? I was thinking about going there again this year, but right now I am leaning toward going to Assen and Sachsenring. THey are a week apart and I have not been to europe yet either. My only problem will be to find some to go with. |

Man I can't wait. | What hotel did you end up with? Hopefully they will do a better job with parking than last year. If not, be prepared to sit in non-moving gridlock for over an hour. Took me 2 hours and I was 2 rows from the gate out of the parking lot (in a car; bikes slipped out ok), although most were running down the wrong side of a two lane road. Cops were giving out tickets for that randomly too. |

Who knows, I might learn something from watching these guys ride the crap out of the GP bikes...... Or I might learn how not to ride a GP bike if I watch Sete. |
