The switch from the left side to right side as they go thru the Hayshed is a good tell. Haydens bike nary moved, Rossi's was wiggling/slapping as it changed directions. | I got a different perspective. I was on the spectator mound on the left of the Siberia grandstand. As the bikes accelerated round turn 7 over the hill towards Hayshed Rossi's was the most consistently in shape. Some, including Hayden's, were over the place. |

The crowd laughed both with relief (Vermeulen was in the same colours after all) and pure mirth when the question of who was down was answered. |

Hayden did say that there was one section of the track he was loosing ground on perhaps that was it. Still the top of the crest past Siberia always seems to get bikes unstable.......WSBKs was expecially bad because it was wet and the Ducs were all bent out of shape there to the point of throwing riders off the seat enough that there were crawling off the front of thier bikes and back in the saddle. Was a bloody great spectical to watch. |

| Re: Phillip Island 05: SPOILER I've put my photos up now.... I applogies in advance for my poor photographic skills. Plus I only got photos on the Saturday up to when my battery ran out and I'd realised that I'd lost my camera bag with spare battery. Also left the charger at home so they are the sum total and pretty bloody poor since I'm still to come close to being more tha shithouse at this photo gig. Being a compact digital camera makes it tricky too. General Photos 2006 CBR100RR - It was pretty crowded, and the bike was on a rotating display which made getting decent shot hard. Also the tent was shockingly hot and stuffy so I didn't stay as long as I wanted, same for the below but the Prototype VTR1000 and ZX6R were beside doors so it was a bit more bearable. Prototype VTR1000
Now this things was very horn, single sided front and rear suspension. And Under engine (yes engine) exhaust. Carbon Fibre all over it and ow so shiney. Couple of the bikes
Couple of BMW Pwoer CUp bikes which I hadden seen before but found out later they race at just about all the other MotoGP events in Europe and the States so probably nothing new to you guys. Also there was a ZX6R that had a cross section taken out of then engine which I thought was kind of interesting.
Once again sorry for the quality of the photos. |

Didn't get to meet any .orgers sorry guys. Did text Ratter to ask how many crownies the vip had had already, bastard.
We really should have organised something but all well |

| Re: Phillip Island 05: SPOILER Matt, that "Prototype VTR1000" is the NAS bike designed and built entirely by HRA, Honda's American design house quite a few years ago.
It is one of only a couple bikes that if actually released I would immediately go buy without any hesitation. I have been lusting after that and wishing Honda would build it for many years now.
Of course not being designed in Japan, the bike has been axed - just another one of Honda's brilliant motorcycle division choices lately. |

| Re: Phillip Island 05: SPOILER Well, I too was sitting in the same section as RP (and even pretty much plonked down next him - imagine that!) I was really enjoying seeing Barros light it up out of Siberia, looked awesome, shame he crashed.
DOn't know if it was obvious or not form the TV footage, but man, Melandri did some amazing braking at Honda corner, was just pure magic to see.
Seeing Biaggi come off was also a bit of a shock, just didn't expect to see something like that so soon.
Speaking of crashes, Casey crashing pretty much signalled "go get food before the main race", it was areal let down, so many people were really looking forward to seeing Casey take a win. Oh well, such is the game...

Z... | Melardi was sliding all the way...!!! spectacular indeed, maybe that was the reason he slowed down in the end and he couldnt catch the front runners(excessive tire consumption). That's what Nicky didn't do, he went out gently and smoothly
Anyway, the view was fantastic. God zee, tell me how do they manage to ride 240 rwhp machines for more than 30 minutes in that pace..

Rode down to the island with Cowboy1600 and we parted ways because just like Will he's a whiney little girls blouse who can't handle a few extra kms for the sake of taking in some twisties on the way home.
Chatted to BrennyP for a bit in the main street of Cowes, but no sign of ratter other than a PM saying he was heading to bed. Didn't hear hide nor hair of anyone else mind you I left the whole exchange of phone numbers a bit late for that. |

| Re: Phillip Island 05: SPOILER These guys are all so talented.
They are the best of the best. None of them are losers.
Hayden, Hopkins, Edwards are all competitive.
They have each shown that they have the potential
to do better than they are currently doing.
Hayden is getting close to Rossi,
but Rossi has the physicological advantage. |
