Obviously, if a rider chooses another compound to go with his different suspension settings, it won't be the same.. but if a tire co has a compound designation and there are significant differences one to another, that's insane. Or bad QC |

How? | Who says that anyone but rossi would have that same medium rear/front combo even available to them... Possibly the same as Rossi (or other lead rider for other factory teams) getting their hands on new better parts first for a race or two than other riders. |

Tires the factory teams use don't have the compounds stamped on them....so who's to say what compounds the riders are actually getting?
If you don't believe favored riders get favored tires (even at the club level) your missing the boat. |

| Re: What is CE talking about here? 1. So what constitutes a favored tire?
2. How do they determine that?
3. Why can't they just make more? |

| I believe it at club level. I believe it all the way up to the top several teams in MotoGP, because of the disparity in finances.
I just want somebody to tell me : WHAT is different about these "favored tires"
And WHY wouldn't a tire company give those to all the riders who could win?
It can't be a matter of cost at that level, and if Honda thought Michelin were giving an advantage to Yamaha, effectively shutting out their chances of winning, don't you think that they could **** Michelin up financially by not buying OEM MIchelins for ANY of their cars and bikes? To say nothing oif Ninja assassins ( or would that be Kawi?) and horse heads in bed? Why would they expend that much effort to make an ideal tire and NOT give it to anyone else? Especially a team-mate ?
Anybody?
Abtech? |

| Re: What is CE talking about here? Why would Michelin make Edwards their uber tester, their golden boy, their guy to test out all of their tires and compounds, yet not give him access to the same tires Rossi, Hayden and Melandri (and everyone but Colin) have? |
