But if he tried to go after Mick as he did Biaggi after a fairing-banging race, He would have had fewer teeth to look after. |

| Re: Doohan's record holds. But Rossi's era lacks a main rival. Even with Sete, the battles weren't elbows and paint trading until the very end when Rossi sealed Sete's fate. Doohan was never penalized and given a 10 second ding, only to turn the power up and win by 20 secs.
The 500cc bikes were much closer in performance (for the most part) and the races were a lot combative. |

Sharp teeth, though, as it turned out.  Ali was his antithesis. He would have made Tyson cry like a little girl. "Iron Mike" would never have defeated Foreman or Frazier, or taken a beating to do so.
He should never be mentioned among the boxing greats, IMO.
Now, back to Doohan vs Rossi, which should soon devolve into Ginger vs Mary Ann.  |
