When Mat Mladin and Troy Corser's times are compared and analyzed, it's clear that the Pirelli's are on the way up, as considering the blustery conditions Troy's fastest time was just 0.6 sec off last year's qualifying time on race tires. But any comparison isn't really fair—neither rider were on the same bike and there's more of a chance of world peace than that transpiring. It's a tantalizing prospect, however, as both won Aussie 250cc Production titles (Corser in 1990 and Mladin the year after), both won Aussie Superbike titles; Mladin in 1992, Corser in 94. And both have won US Superbike titles; Corser in 95 and Mladin well, six times in the past seven years while Corser has added two SBK crowns to his resume.

I get tired of hearing all the stories about how Matt would rule in WSBK or MotoGP. All the writers complaining about Matt not getting a shot, why not let him ride a wild card for Suzuki, etc... Let's face it, who's the one person who you don't hear complaining about the situation? Matt! He doesn't say anything to the effect of wanting a MotoGP ride or a shot with Alstare.

Matt has the chance, he can get any ride with Suzuki he desires. He wants to remain the Big Fish in a little pond. If anything, that's what's wrong with this. Move up or out....

Corser didn't win the AMA Superbike title in '95. Miguel did.
They have his history all messed up. I was just nitpicking.

good point, this could be settle if we still had the AMA and WSBK races together at Laguna. Oh well.
