| More on Rossi and Ferrari Looks like he'll be testing with other drivers at the same time. Rossi and Schumi on the same track at the same time..... http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/moto...ne/4649982.stm |

| Re: More on Rossi and Ferrari I wish we could see that...it would be sweet to see how he handles that beast around the track. I would not be surprised if he beats some of those rookies. |

| Re: More on Rossi and Ferrari According to Ferrari's press release they kept Rossi in due to the weather, but Schumi went on with testing in both the new car and old chassis with new engine.
I guess they don't want to start replacing cars sooner than necessary. |

I guess they don't want to start replacing cars sooner than necessary. | Yeah, that makes sense. I don't think I'd go for a ride, in the rain, with the world's press waiting to compare my times to Schumi for the first time. |

| Re: More on Rossi and Ferrari Rossi has a history of binning new chit, he did it in 125 and 250. He openly admits this in his book, that he has this problem. I saw the pictures today, pretty damn funny. |

| Re: More on Rossi and Ferrari Looks like Rossi was running the full F2004 with the V10, while Schumi ran a testing program on the new 248 F1. The weather was clear, temps ~20 degrees C. |

Yeah, he is running the 2005 car, which also has more downforce, not to mention the V10, but he is doing pretty damn well so far. Biatchi should just shut the F up. |

If he actually practised for a year (as a test driver), he could be the world champ in his second year of racing, assuming he had a good time like Mclaren or Renualt or Ferrari. |

| Re: More on Rossi and Ferrari Put the Kool Aid down, boys. These times mean NOTHING, and less than nothing if Ferrari want to have someone tow the kid around for a lap or two to get some buzz going.
Even if he is ultimately sucessful, this is no indication.
Edit - The fact that he's able to do this in light of the whole Michelin/Camel/Yamaha vs Bridgestone/Marlboro/Ferrari incompatibility is an indication of how popular, powerful, and talented he is, at least in the perception of those European markets. That's the more significant feature here..

| Re: More on Rossi and Ferrari I think that for him to come within 10 seconds of any of those times, in either car, is pretty astonishing. |

| Re: More on Rossi and Ferrari Well the last second is what makes winners and losers, and a second is looooong time in F1. CBRVFR is right, but it does show that he could earn a ride in the series but whether or not he could win anything is another matter. What really matters is what Ferrari and he himself think, not us. BTW, he wasn't the only one to spin out, M.Schumacher did as well as the track was wet. |
