| Re: 2006 Jerez Results - SPOILER Was still a great race even with rossi being put down like that. It will be very interesting to see is Pedrosa can keep up that kind of riding and Hayden can get his **** together a little more and challenge for the wins a bit this year.

If Pedrosa doesn't do well here, where is he going to do well?
Advantages:
A. Home track.
B. Hayden's his team mate. He would let Hayden pass too at Laguna Seca. Common courtesy. "You go chase the Duc, it's your turf."
C. 250s aren't slow. He's the champ.
D. Factory Hondas are what eveyone in GP are always worried about beating.
No slam on Pedrosa, but gees, it's not like he is an underdog. |

| Re: 2006 Jerez Results - SPOILER Hayden was on the new full spec bike that still has some bugs to be worked out, and Melandri's was a version of that as well. Hayden even said going into the weekend that he was faster on the older spec bike that Pedrosa was using, but they decided to stick with the development of the new full spec machine.
That should help them going forward. The fact that he finished far forward of where he expected on a bike he wasn't fully confident with shows he's ready to fight this year.
EDIT: I also enjoyed seeing Kenny Jr. beating both Suzukis. Why is Hopkins still there again?

No way Hayden let Pedrosa pass, anyone thinking so needs to remove stars and stripes colouring from their glasses. I was very sceptical about Pedrosa's chances in diesel class but the tiny smurf sure did ride hella well yesterday. If Pedrosa keeps beating Hayden like this I predict huge battle for worst excuses between Hayden fans and CE fans (my money is on the Tortoise fans, they're far more experienced)

| Re: 2006 Jerez Results - SPOILER Fun race to watch, particularly seeing Capirossi's riding in response to the challenge from Pedrosa in the last laps. Loved the on the limit sliding, hat's off to riders with that kind of ability . |

| Re: 2006 Jerez Results - SPOILER Did anyone notice the Duc sliding while the Honda held its line? I thought for sure the Ducs tires were going and Pedrosa was going to wear him out and pass him in the last few laps. Great race either way...Hayden was pissed at the end...talk about pressure!!! |

Hayden's rookie debut was nothing like Pedrosa's (I know, not really apples to apples), but that has to be a little disappointing for Hayden to watch Pedrosa leave him way behind and barely squeak out third position. Nothing wrong with third, but Hayden looked a little pissed during post race. Pedrosa should be exciting to watch this season, but I'm guessing we start seeing him finish more in the 4th - 6th position, we'll see!
On Rossi, he makes those charging runs every race and most times he's given that spot (if not forced to), I think it was just a matter of time before his style of slamming it in there catches up. I did want to see Rossi in this race and was bummed when "IT'S ROSSI, HE'S DOWN IN THE FIRST CORNER!".
I'm sorry, but it's almost comical now how Sete's luck is, if it is indeed "luck".
"It's been a long winter, GP is back!" |

He just slid past (2) riders and shocked the rider who tried to brake but made contact with Rossi's rear tire. I don't know, it's just an opinion, but I thought Rossi's move was too agressive and he got tapped. By the replay, it didn't really look that bad when contact was made, and he was SOOOOOOO lucky not to get pinned by a couple riders (Edwards included). |

| Re: 2006 Jerez Results - SPOILER The best battle of the day had to be for 3rd in the 250 class, that was actually a good battle. Not sure if anyone seen it but it's a great last lap with 3 riders dicing it up, slaming into each other....great race. Did anyone catch that wreck in the 250 race with that bike about 15-20' in the air spinning, awsome! God I would'nt want that thing falling down on me. |

| Re: 2006 Jerez Results - SPOILER Rossi has excellent starts and he makes up for the few bad qualifying sessions with his starts...he may have another career as a mtorcycle drag racer...but he is extremely aggressive...I thought it was interesting that he happened to be hit by a MotoGP rookie...not to take anything away from the rider. |

That "slam" seemed on the borderline of fair play, I know it's racing, but he had position but the other racer was so hot coming off the corner he just slammed into him causing him to lose 2 positions. Still fun to watch that battle all the way until the end.
I did miss the crash, I freaked when I remembered MotoGP was on at 2:00pm and it was like 2:35pm.
The onboard cameras on the 250s was awesome, love that track. |
