You can never be too small or too light to be a roadracer . . .

Are the bikes and riders weighed together or separately? Does MotoGP have a rider/bike minimum?

I bet Pedrosa doesn't get in Kenny Roberts' face. I think K.R. said that he weighed 185.

That is huge compared to these other guys.

He looks a lot thinner now than when he was here in AMA (kind of got porky looking toward the end). Now in MotorGP every pound counts.

I read Hopkins dropped from 160 to 130 when he went to MotoGP.

It's really not that hard. Most people, even fit ones, could lose 10-20 pounds without too much trouble if they were fully dedicated.

A friend is really into bodybuilding, looks big (like 18" arms) at ~5'9" and 160-165 or so when he gets his bodyfat down into the 5% range.

yeah both of them would be hard for me. 10lbs, done that one time a few years ago when I was pretty sick (doctors didn't even know what was really wrong with me so my friends named it Brett's Disease). 20-25lbs (20%) I'd be anorexic.

I am 6'5" and between 1994 and 1997 weighed in at a whopping 160 to 162. Had enough muscles to move around too . . . .
