Two words: snowball effect. 2008 WSB allows 1200cc twins 2009 AMA SB follows suit 2010-2014 Ducati 1199s dominate all forms of superbike 2015 Honda introduces the RC56 2016 Honda RC56s dominate all forms of superbike 2017 Rules are changed to allow 1150cc 4 cylinders 2018 Suzuki brings back the GSXR1100 2019 Ducati starts whining again because they are too stubborn to adapt 2022 1800cc twins and so on.  Actually that would be pretty cool. |

| Re: Will WSBK allow 1200cc twins? I think the Desmo V-4 will be put into a limited production bike, thus qualifing it for Superbike. Then Honda will finally have to bring the V-5 to the street. |
