| Re: SPOILER: 2006 Istanbul Results Yup. VerMOLEn and Stoner really held everyone up for a few laps, but once Stoner was actually able to make a pass Melandri and Hayden went right by as well.
Same held true when they took Hopkins. |

Anyone know what Pedrosa, Melandri, Hayden and Stoner weigh?
| What all together? Hayden looks quite "chunky", but the others total 8 stone soaking wet.
Loved the post-race interview with Stoner. Modest, humble, responsible and thoroughly charming. Are we sure he's an Aussie?
Seriously though, a very pleasant young fellow and with his attitude without doubt he's going to be a major star. His thirdrace in Moto GP! |

| Re: SPOILER: 2006 Istanbul Results Great race! Nice to see some dicing up front. Rossi was fantastic getting to 4th, if there were a few more laps, he would have overtaken Hayden.
I've heard Pedrosa weighs 103 lbs, and Melandri is around 120.
I wondered if he's so light the front wheel came off the ground at full lean. |

| Re: SPOILER: 2006 Istanbul Results Pedrosa---112lbs
Stoner----128lbs
Melandri---140lbs
Hayden---151lbs
Would be interesting to calc the acceleration differential, not to mention the tire management issue...

| Re: SPOILER: 2006 Istanbul Results Qualified 11th or 12th, ran off and returned to the track 14th at half-distance, put his head down and finished 4th. He closed 5 seconds on Hayden in the last 3 laps or so |

I think Pedrosa was crying after he fell off.
Bummer for Hopkins. |

| Re: SPOILER: 2006 Istanbul Results Definitely one of the more competitive GP races I've seen in a long, long time. Amazing that Pedrosa chucked it in the last lap - giving Nicky the gift podium finish. Nicky looked great for most of the race, but couldn't seem to hang in the last four or five laps. That Stoner kid looks like he's about 14 years old. 20? Amazing that a kid 20 years old can ride his ass off with the best in the world like that.
I had to rub my eyes in the first few laps seeing Vermuelen and Hopper up there on the Suzukis. Do you suppose Hopper was kicking it again when he had to make a pit stop for a rear tire change? |

| Re: SPOILER: 2006 Istanbul Results Awesome race. I couldn't believe the ground that rossi made up. 2 more laps and he probably would have won the thing.
Pedrosa made a critical error trying to make up for his mistake in that last lap but he'll learn from it I am sure and will be a force to be reckoned with very soon.
Nicky, what to say about Nicky? Does he just wear himself out running hard and lose his stamina towards the end or what? he runs **** hot for 90% of the race and then rossi almost catches him in the last couple laps..
He's doing good as far as podiums are concerned and leading the points which is great but the boy needs to win some races and not just Laguna Seca which I expect him to win again.
