Maybe not, but this is his worst season on record. This is the first chance to bet against him and not sound like a fool.

I'd put some credits on someone else this year

Now that Nicky has finally figured out not to push when it's not needed and finish where he can and be consistant instead of crashing out, he has a chance. I still wouldn't bet against Rossi at this point of the season.

Not if Bayliss is still hanging around. Edwards is quickly approaching the end of his useful life in the sport. He looked really haggard at the end. The interview made him look like a man who just been flogged.

Agreed. Since when finishing 3rd is something to be smiling ear to ear about? I dunno though, I guess in Colin's case...when you've been stinking out the joint for 4+ years now, a 3rd might as well be 1st....Nicky didn't seem too happy to finish 2nd...the Kentucky Kid looks like he is starting to round into form now....8 podiums in a row..that's consistency....

Correct. Bostrom won in 1998 with no wins.

Mladin only had one win in 1999 (Gobert had 5).

Does anyone remember the guy who came to this site and in a bold move told everyone how Danni Pedrosa was the guy to watch. And everyone laughed him off this site?

Early '05 he was hyping in 1000rr.net how HRC now has got their **** together and Rossi just got a single lucky one on a Yamaha. Pick a random new horse every year and statistically you'll end up picking correct one sooner or later.

Honda riders are taking points from each other quite nicely so if Rossi's streak of bad luck ends it will be a different ballgame. I'm nowhere near taking a bet agaist Rossi.

Re: SPOILER: 2006 China MotoGP

If the Yamahas were working right I would say that Rossi's title hopes are dwindling quickly. But the Yamaha hasn't worked right since preseason. In preseason testing Rossi was smoking fast and setting a blistering pace. I wouldn't bet against Rossi. This weekend he'll be using the '05 chassis with the '06 motor and we'll have to see if cures the jackhammer syndrome the bike is experiencing. I was suprised Colin finished 3rd as you could see the bike chattering like crazy in some of the turns. Hopefully they'll get it solved quickly. I'd rather see Vale get beat straight up if he is going to lose the championship rather than see him lose because of the bike not working properly.
