SPOILER: 2006 China MotoGP

Wow another good race.

I was cheering for Hayden to get his second win but another podium is good.

Can believe that Edwards still dogged Yamaha from the podium

With Pedrosa getting a win it looks like the battle for Rookie of the year is getting closer

With Edwards and Hopkins leading the first 4 or 5 laps, I was seriously worried that BDA was driving up to the mountains to throw himself off a cliff....

So with the way things stand, do you think "The Doctor" is out of contention for the season? and if so what is the reason? (wants to run F1, he got lazy, Too confident, Wrong frame....)

I am Glad to see Nicky 1st in the points now and still holding on. He will have to get a win or 2 to stay there though.

Re: SPOILER: 2006 China MotoGP

GO NICKY! Glad to see him do so well, although I wanted to see him win. Pedrosa and Stoner are definitely the real deal, and should be very good at this level for a long time.

Rossi seems to be having Gibbers-like luck this year. Was charging again today and would have easily been on the podium but for tire issues. Each week his chances of winning this year's championship is getting smaller, but I still wouldn't bet against him.

You know the HRC brass are smiling big time.

Kinda surprised that Melandri didn't fare better after the last race. Hopper and Edwards were both a surprise, that's for sure.

True, but not many win a season championship without a win under their belt. It can be done, but it's not the norm.

Nah, I knew he couldn't hack it for the whole race.
Too bad Hayden and Pedrosa got such bad starts. They would have been long gone if they had done better off the line.

Funny chit. When I saw CEII up in front, I thought about BDA eating some crow. Of course, CEII let me down and got passed. It seems Yamahas do not have the power of the HRC bikes.

Great race. Pedrosa is going to be the new boy wonder of the circuit. He can ride that bike. Too bad he is to short to have the bike straight up on the starting line. He has to lean the bike on one side.

Re: SPOILER: 2006 China MotoGP

Yea, great race. Pedrosa and Stoner are going to be studs. Nicky is doing well. He's showing all of the consistancy that he lacked in past seasons and he's being rewarded for it in the championship. KEEP IT UP!

The announcers mentioned that Yamaha was going to have a new, less rigid frame for the next race. Maybe that will eliminate the chatter.

Re: SPOILER: 2006 China MotoGP

Anyone else thinking Pedrosa or Nicky were going to low side it near the end?

I kept waiting for "...and Danny Pedrosa is down!...Oh no...."

Fun race!

I noticed that Nicky didn't really congratulate Danny after the race, also noticed Danny didn't mention the name "Nicky" during the post race interviews, just "other riders" or something. Yet Nicky admitted he just couldn't hang with Danny at that speed, but was happy for Repsol Honda to place one, two.

Is there a little bad blood already between the Nicky and Pedrosa?

Great Colin interview! [sniff, sniff, sniff....just can't even sniff their exhaust]

Did anyone see Pedrosa as he pulled up to pole position after the warmup lap?

HE CAN'T TOUCH THE GROUND WITH BOTH FEET! How tall is he?

Pedrosa is like 5'1" or something minute. Yea, he's tiny.

I don't think there's any bad blood between them. Pedrosa's english is just really bad, and what he *did* say probably took all the brain power he could muster. As far as congrats on the bike goes, we only see so much. Nicky gave him props on the podium, so I wouldn't read too much into. It's racing, not soap operas after all.

I think he is listed at 5'-1". That is probably with 1" platform shoes.

The Colin interview was great. It seemed to me that he admitted that this Yamaha cannot keep up with the Hondas. Then redirected with the company line of "I want to thank Yamaha and the other sponsors for ... bla bla bla, yada yada yada." He's a wacky guy. Good interview.

I think he's far from out of contention. He will have to start qualifying better than the 4th row though... as much as I love watching him work his way up from 13th. It will be tough to match Nicky's consistency. This has GOT to be his last season. I think he likes the challenge but HATES losing. Rossi will win plenty more races this season.

This seems to be working out to be the best and most competitve season in a long time. No more runaway winners just pur competition. Let the best and most consistent rider win.

And so far it's Nicky.

I thought it was a class act race. Danni doing what he did in the 250's and Nicky just throwing down consistant lap times. The only thing with Danni is, I don't think he has the consistancy to do that every race. In the 250's if he got out in front, he could stay there, but if he got mugged for the first 4-5 laps then he was a top finisher. Stoner on the other hand could come from 15th to win. He even ran off the track this race, lost about 4 spots and still finsihed 5th. That boy will be champ some day.

Nicky needs a win, but LeMans is a wierd track, will he win there??

Laguna will be interesting, last year Rossi told Hayden that he would only have Home track advantage once and that he had figured out the track near the end just a few laps too late.
