Is Rossi chasing his money?

Soup has this "Bombshell"

http://www.superbikeplanet.com/2006/May/060523a.htm

Could this be his Vegas type experience. Once you start losing, you think that if you keep playing you'll get it back. One bad season and he's opting out of F1? Just have to leave on top?

Re: Is Rossi chasing his money?

All he needs to do is DNF out of 2 or 3 more races and it will be an even playing field.

I think he just wants to make history and prove that he is the best ever.

Rossi has more than enough money for his great grandkids, I don't think he's chasing anything but pure pride.

He will not leave at anything less than a champion.

I think it's a laudable thing to do...assuming of course, that this isn't pure BS.

This ain't no bombshell. Many people knew he wasn't going to race in F1 weeks/months ago.

Re: Is Rossi chasing his money?

It probably has more to do with Ross Braun and Michael Schumacher's plans than Rossi's now that they've become more competitive with Renault .

Soup called it a bombshell, and Crash was merely repeating what they'd written. He even wrapped it in quotes.

Re: Is Rossi chasing his money?

Rossi isn't anywhere near good enough at driving to unseat either current Ferrari driver, or a handful of other driver options available after this season.
It was never going to happen. A test or development drive, maybe. Competition no way.

No Einstein..Raikonnen has signed a letter of intent with Ferrari for next year. And Schumacher isn't going anywhere. Do you follow F1 or just clique it here with everyone on weknoweverythingclique.com?

You're the one who was acting like Rossi called you up to ask for your personal advice on the matter. I don't follow F1 at all, and never pretended to.

And why is that because I stated that it wasn't new information?
All of a sudden I'm talking to Rossi. Superbikeplanet is cut and paste.com bro. But thanks for the kind words.

Well I follow F1 and they've talked about it alot. Once the Raikonnen stuff let out and the fact that Ferrari is back competing at the front giving Schumacher a chance at wins, well it's well talked about. That is all.
There is just as much coverage on the subject on the F1 side as there is on the Gp side. Like I said kind of old news. Ryder talked about it a couple of weeks ago as well.

I think he still has a ways to go before he can be crowned best ever. Currently he's third in all-time GP wins. 10 shy of second and 42 shy of Giacomo Agostini. Of course Agostini was racing multiple classes with dual championships in each class for multiple years. http://www2.motogp.com/en/motogp/ind...ns&option=rgpv

Don't get me wrong I think Rossi is definetly one of the best all time and I really enjoy watching him pick apart the competition. I think he's still gotta prove he's the top guy ever.

Very well stated. It's like comparing modern AMA champs to King Kenny. Back in his day you had to win two or three of the different series (Flat track, road race, etc..) to have the No. 1 plate. No. 1 meant you were the best rider in all aspects two wheeled chaos. Todays riders can't come close to the levels that some of the old timers had to achieve.

Granted everything is much more highly specialized and the riders can do well in other forms of riding, I know many do supermoto and SX, or flat track... but their contracts prohibt them from doing so in competitive manner. Don't want to injure their 5 million dollar rider. Unless your Hopkins and break an ankle playing on your RM....
