I don't think Honda would take him back.

Re: Rossi to what Team for 2007???

Probably depends a lot on how well Yamaha and Burgess can get his bike sorted between now and the end of the year. Italy would go berserk if he rode Ducati to a championship, but I doubt that will happen.

No one other than Honda or Yamaha seems to have the money unless Marlboro kicks up for Ducati as sort of an F1 teaser.. I think that would be an interesting development, personally.

Yep, I'm hoping Duc...escpecially with Marlboro sponsorship, theoretically leading on to F1.

I'd love nothing more than to see Rossi prove all the haters wrong about him...I think he could make the switch quite successfully.

Re: Rossi to what Team for 2007???

I thought Yamaha was keeping Rossi to help develop their 800cc machine for the first year and after that was up in the air.

It would be interesting if Rossi moved to Ducati and than moved to F1.

He knows as well as most that the rule changes favor Honda but he won't be going back there. He'll either stay with Yamaha or sign with Ducati. With Marlboro sponsorship they have the potential to pay the highest salary of any team in the paddock for him and he knows it. + Ducati is the only mfr. to unveil their 800cc bike for next year (although they didn't go into specifics). Rossi has already stated that he wants to ride the 800cc Yamaha this year and have some say in the development of it instead of leaving it to just the factory test rider(s). He'll probably stay with Yamaha but if he thinks that the Ducati is ahead of the game he might switch and end his career there. He has always expressed wanting to go to Ducati at some point because it would be the ultimate thing, Italian on an Italian bike with a shot for the title. But a big factor in him not going over there after 2003 was all the PR crap they wanted him to do. Hard to say. If Yamaha gets the M1 sorted out and he can come back from this point deficit I really don't think he'd be going anywhere. But if the bike continues to have problems it might piss him off and he could leave.

Fuk next season though, we got a sweet championship going this year
