| Re: DiSalvo to MotoGP Edwards used that as a stepping stone. It's a really prestigious race for the Japanese manufacturers.
I don't see DiSalvo riding at the level of a Stoner, Pedrosa, Melandri or a Vermuelin at this point, but I haven't paid all that much attention. Maybe a turn at WSBK would be advisable first?
What do you think HD? |

| Re: DiSalvo to MotoGP While he hasn't really been the huge presence he thought he'd be in the AMA, he has already had a better AMA career than Hopkins did.
In fact, bring Hopkins back to the AMA and he'd get schooled by DiSalvo and the others.
Again. |

What do you think HD? | Yea, Edwards and Nicky both used it as a stepping stone. Exactly my point. I also don't see Tortise being w/ Yamaha next year; JMO. If Rossi only does one more year in GP then it'll be time for them to start grooming someone to succeed him.
It's hard to say if DiSalvo is at the same level as Stoner, et al. I think that the skills needed to be good a good rider for a GP team are probably harder for the laymen to evaluate. You have to be on the team w/ the kid to know if he can handle the pressure and provide accurate, valuable feedback to mechanics. It's probably easier to learn how to ride than it is to communicate. Work ethic is an issue as well. Furthermore, DiSalvo has already done 125/250 racing in Europe and the GP teams are favoring a 250 style rider (Stoner, Pedrossa, etc).
All that said, personally I'd rather DiSalvo head to head w/ Spies and the Haydens in SuperBike right now.

| Re: DiSalvo to MotoGP disalvo isn't consistent enough to beat e boz or yates for that matter... He's quick, no doubt, but races aren't won during qualifying alone... You actually have to back that speed up in the race consistently and to me, he doesn't have that yet.
Then again, yamaha does like americans it seems and he does have a 2 stroke background. Stranger things have happened... |

| Re: DiSalvo to MotoGP Jason is not ready...He's a nice kid, but needs to get some championships in his current classes, then step up to superbike. He is a little dude....I recall seeing him on one tippie toe before our warmup lap on pit road on his r1 barely touching the ground...(graves was testing at a ccs race). I'm thinkn' to myself, who's this little ****ing kid on a r1?...before I realized it was Graves yamma. |

| Re: DiSalvo to MotoGP since when is the 8 hour a stepping stone to moto GP? LOL Yeah some riders that have done the 8 hour have gone to GP, but how many have done it and not gone? Way more than the people that have would be my guess and there'll be just as many in it this year that have no chance of getting into Moto GP after it's over either. Adam Furgesson is one who has done it before, and is again this year. I won't hold my breath waioting for the GP ride to come through though. LOL |
