Bizzarre race. I hope Melandri's OK.. he looked pretty bad as they carried him away.

Nicky, we're waiting for you to dominate one of these...

I didn't see the crash fest at the beginning, hope everyone is ok as well. I picked up about a lap before Stoner crashed.

Edwards lost ground for any excuse he had for blaming equipment.

It wasn't just the beginning. That was the most I've seen crash in one race that wasn't being rained on.

Re: SPOILER - Catalunya 2006:

That crash was seriously ugly. A complete endo by Sete - not a highside, at the end of the front straight, causing a massive pileup and red flag situation. Melandri and Capirossi both took trips to the hospital, but apparently nothing too serious, thankfully.

Still more crashes after the restart took several of the main top riders. If you think about it, some of the best riders of the year were DNF, leading to kind of a yawner finish after what we've seen at Mugello, Istanbul, etc. No Capirossi, Melandri, Stoner, Pedrosa, Giberneau, leads to a fairly dull result.

I'm still happy for Nicky, who in times past would have definitely binned it in pursuit of Rossi. I'm sure he's not happy with second place, but 20 more points on top of Loris didn't suck, despite Rossi's victory.

Re: SPOILER - Catalunya 2006:

That was one of the ugliest wrecks in a long time. If any of the three, Marco, Sete, or Loris make it back for Assen, I would be surprised. I did not hear about Sete's ambulance crash, bad Ju-ju in deed!

A yawner, but at least it was the first time that Rossi paid respect to Nicky and actually said his name and not, "The other guy". Nicky gave it right back, so that was just a weird race from start to post race interview.

Re: SPOILER - Catalunya 2006:

Did anyone see the footage of Pedrosa trying to pick up his bike, then having a marshal come along and help him start it up, then drop it again in the dirt within 5 seconds? Couldn't help laughing...

As for the big crash, that looked real nasty - seeing Melandri not moving for so long was a real worry. Good to know he will be OK.

I'm willing to bet Sete an dMelandri may both be out for the next race.

I still find it funny that he couldn't pick up his own bike. I forget how sinfully large I am sometimes, but I still laughed for a bit watching him struggle than wave to a corner worker for help.

I saw when they were trying to restart Pedrosa, he couldn't touch the ground without actually sliding his butt off the seat to one side. Yet another chuckle.

Yeah, ****in' hilarious...

Occasionally I have to remind my outsized, freakishly gigantic friends that you only need to have one foot on the ground when you're riding a motorcyle, playing snooker, or screwing in a hammock.

And what else is important in life, really?

Seriously, that RC211V weighs what, about 280? Dani better spend a few afternoons in the gym before he moves up to a VFR..

But size tears up tires faster. Also he just had a get off (didn't see it so not sure how). I know on my recent paint remodeling I got the wind knocked out of me bad and there is no way I could pick it up

Are you saying that you didn't know he was a cross-dresser? He did wear a thong from the pics I see from last year's Grattan trip.

To me the thong was more disturbing; even over the leather.
