Just back from Donington - Pics!

At a loose end this morning, got to 11.30 and I thought oh f*ck it, let's go. So hopped my sons's F650 and blasted up to Donington. Just made it for Qualifying. Very hot walking around the circuit, but wanted to try out my new camera and lens. Fairly happy with the results but need to get focusing a bit sharper.

Question for the experts. Most of the time I switched the auto focus off, prefocused on a spot, then took the pic as the rider reached that point. Good? Bad?
When using AuotFocus I used the mode that tracks and adjusts focus automatically. Good? Bad?

Not too shabby! The first two are just ever so slightly soft on the focus but really aren't bad. The second two are pretty decent but it's a shame you were shooting through a fence... the second shot of Rossi looks pretty sharp.

You can pre-focus on a spot and do it that way but your timing and depth of field need to be spot on. I mainly use Auto focus with AI-Servo on (tracking). You will end up with some that are not focused but for the most part, it works pretty well.
