Apparently Rossi is (or more likely was) a big fan of Danny the Wonderboy. When Danny was in the junior ranks, Rossi has been known to start a restaurant chant with his entourage of "Danny, Danny, Danny ........." Not that that had got anything to do with the price of eggs. |

| Re: British GP Donnington - SPOILER Both the 250 and MotoGP were snoozers after the first 10 laps....
I think Dani has more talent than most out there, and he could very well be the next Rossi "ish" rider out there. But his attitude will be a problem with HRC if he keeps it up.
I really thought that the typical players would've been more of a factor in this race. It's CEII's favorite track almost. He's best finishes and first podium came at Donnington. I think that it's kinda funny how Nicky's worst place finish in 12 races is equal to CEII's average.
Props to Dani for his huge save on lap three, but my award for almost binning it and then making a miraculous save is by far Macro's low side. That boy has his fairing on the tarmac, how he saved it, only he knows.... |

| Re: British GP Donnington - SPOILER Of all of the tracks around the world that MotoGP runs on, this one seems to be the one that the crappie little American tracks were based on. Thank God that in the last few years, they're getting bigger and better.
Those MotoGP boys looked out of place on that go-kart track. Well, everyone exept Dani Boy.
Ya, you can read that as sour grapes.

| Re: British GP Donnington - SPOILER During the show they tried to make the public understand that Dani is not a total Pratt, but is a funny likable guy off the track. He just takes his work very seriously. I may not like his monotone boring lifeless interviews, but that is just him. Maybe Honda needs to send him to personality school like they sent Hayden to etiquette school. |

| Re: British GP Donnington - SPOILER Nicky's really come into his own this season. I'd love to see him get more wins and take the championship. I don't like Pedrosa's attitude, either, but as far as the interviews go, I understand that his English is very poor. It's all he can do to speak at all during the interviews, so is probably placing all his concentration on trying to say the few sentences that he can. |

| Re: British GP Donnington - SPOILER Dani had the same reputation in 250's as he does now, and he carries that same sour facial expression whether he's giving an interview in English or Spanish, at the top of the podium or wherever.
It's no different in any other sport - we prefer to see well-paid sports figures at least appearing like they are having fun, when they are making huge money doing what the rest of us only dream of doing. It's certainly a big part of the reason Barry Bonds is so unpopular - he acts like he's a complete jerk. |

| Re: British GP Donnington - SPOILER all he's gotta do is crack a smile once in awhile.
I think he's gonna be an awesome racer (already is really) but people aren't going to like him cause he doesn't come off as being very personable.

| Re: British GP Donnington - SPOILER The thing we need to understand about Dani is, he is what HRC is banking their future on. Their main sponser is Spanish, they now have a Spanish rider on the top team. Repsol money is going to stay with HRC for a little while longer. Dani will be a MotoGP champ, he doesn't have to be like Nicky or Rossi, he just has to win and Repsol will continue to write the checks. This was the political fight once Rossi vacated his spot and part of the reason Barros was given a chance and why Repsol threaten to pull sponsership with Biaggi and Hayden. They want a Spanish rider, now they and HRC have their little miracle boy. Also remember that he's part of the reason another main Spanish sponser pulled money, Telefonica Movistar was his sponser in the 250's and they were so pissed when Repsol stole him that it was one of the reason's they pulled funding and left the Gressini (sp) team in kaos.
Next year will be interesting because the Evo bike that Nicky is on, will be the platform the new engine goes into. So will Nicky have the advantage? Or will it be a level playing field with everyone getting a new bike?
What ever the case, Nicky is leading the standings and has been leading them since week 4, on a bike that no-one else in the HRC paddock wanted to ride or could ride. Dani has made several comments in various press releases about Nicky being able to ride the bike when it basically changes every weekend. |

The HRC chief said, at one of the races this year, that none of the parts of the EVO bike will be going on the 800cc bike. Really makes you wonder wtf they are doing. |
