| Re: Hayden going to Ducati next season? Delusional views of reality run rampid in this thread.
Nicky is my boy and all, but a rossi he isn't. Anyone that thinks otherwise must have just started watching GPs this year. Rossi is a moto genius.
And honda doesn't reward anyone with loyalty. Ask Colin Edwards. Ask Chris the V. Ask alex barros. THey have their own agenda and if you don't fit into it, then you're gone.
And it wasn't honda that didn't sign rossi... Rossi didn't sign honda. He didn't wait til the last minute at all and he left, taking the entire repsol championship winning bloodline with him... Honda has only just now recovered, 3 years later... |

| Re: Hayden going to Ducati next season? Hayden better than Rossi??....I nearly p*ssed my pants when I read that!.
Sure he beat him at Laguna, his home track...But Rossi qualified way down the pack (OK, his and his teams fault), but he was on for 3rd place and catching fast...not that he would have caught Hayden.
He qualified 12th in Germany and still beat Hayden. When has Hayden ever beaten Rossi when Rossi has qualified well?....probably never. Could Hayden do as well from a crap grid position??....I doubt it.
He was playing with Hayden at Catalunya....even if he is leading the championship, Hayden is not in the same class as Rossi. |

| Re: Hayden going to Ducati next season? If the racer gets to take credit when it goes well, then he takes it when it goes bad. In this case, Rossi is ****ing up. The racer ultimately is the one responsible for making it happen, and if the racer, especially one like Rossi, doesn't get a program put in place, he isn't the best.
IMO, it is true that this year Nicky has been the better rider than Rossi.
More talented? Nope.
But the bullshit stops when the green flag drops, and Nicky has gotten it done better than anyone else so far this year.
I HATE it when some WAFL says "____" doesn't deserve the title because...
That's crap. Racing isn't touchy feely ****. Racing doesn't allow ties. It doesn't have judgement calls.
It is decided by who crosses the finish line first, and championships go to those that finish closest to first the most times.
As an ex-racer, I'll tell you it's much more difficult to finish second six times than win a race or two. And that's why championships matter so much. |

Nicky is not a god. But he works really hard at it. Persistence and consistency wins championships. |

| Re: Hayden going to Ducati next season? i think that everyone has misunderstood me. rossi is a very talented racer (he is the best at this point). i believe that ncky has the potential to being evn better than him. rossi has surrounded himself with the best crew in Moto GP. when he left to Yamaha he took almost everyone with him, including the great Burgess. if nicky had the right crew (he is on his second crew so far) he would be on par with rossi at this stage. everyone who believes that a racer makes a racer, thats true to a certain degree, with the right crew any racer can be much better. dont get me wrong people, rossi is a bad mother, however nicky has the potential to be better (he is just breaking through the ice this year) and thats how i feel. |

| Re: Hayden going to Ducati next season? but I think you forget about rossi's two world championships on aprilia 125s and 250s. Yes, he has had burgess on his hip since he started on 500s and into motoGP, but the guy has been backing up the hype for a while now.
Additional disclaimer: I'm a self proclaimed huge nicky fan. I want to see him win more than I want to see colin back in WSBK with bayliss showing corser and toseland why they'll always be 'B' riders... |

| Re: Hayden going to Ducati next season? do you think that bayliss is winning this year because he is a better rider or because he has a better bike? even though Ducati is the only "factory" team the 999R is a step down from (GSXR, CBR, R1) in performance, don't you think? i just think that bayliss is the better rider in WSBK this year. |

| Re: Hayden going to Ducati next season? yes, bayliss is on a familiar bike (to him), great team and the best rider in WSBK. Haga would be my second choice. |

| Re: Hayden going to Ducati next season? maybe someone has a good explanation as to why ducati (999R) is underpower, but is still able to dominate WSBK (challenging for the championship in BSB), but in AMA superbike they aren't able to be that competitive? i know the talent is better in the AMA, but is it that the v-twin can't compete with the inline 4, or is it that Hodgsen and Bostrom aren't top riders? would a bayliss be competitive in AMA with the 999R? |

Spies & Mladin are top riders but you've got too many privateer "Sunday racers" who shouldn't be on the same tracl. WSB is a much better series IMO, it is, after all, WORLD SUPERBIKES.....The 999R is only approx 10bhp behind the R1's, GSXR's... but it puts the power down better. Watched Bayliss at Brands yesterday and he had more grunt out the corners than Haga but wasn't faster in a straight line. Ducati spend millions competing in WSB compared to the Japanese and they want to increase the capacity to 1200 to reduce costs and level the playing field. Personally I think it'll return to the bad old days when inline-4's were limited to 750cc and it became the Ducati Cup. |

| Re: Hayden going to Ducati next season? well lets put it this way, Rossi has had how much bike trouble this year, a broken right wrist, and just a plain old poor start to the year and he's where in the championship? 3rd? for all the trouble he's had and he's still up there the man is undoubtably the best on the grid.
and the easy answer as to why the 999r can't compete in the AMA is that its a different bike than whats run in WSBK and BSB with different riders.

| Re: Hayden going to Ducati next season? The top five AMA riders can ride with the top five WSBK riders any day. The BSB guys might hang with the AMA Superstock guys.
Who's that ex-WSBK champ getting his ass kicked at each and every event in the AMA? Number 100? Who is that forgettable guy that can't hang again?
Oh yeah, Hodgson. |

It is common knowledge, the AMA is the highest level National motorcycle superbike series in the world. |

Not sure how mechanical failures can really be pinned on Rossi f'ing up.... If it weren't for the mech failures Rossi would be right there as usual. |

The whole excuse of "the engine blew becuase he slowed down a touch" holds no water when the M1s of Edwards, Checa and "that other guy that shouldn't even be riding superbikes, let alone MotoGP" didn't blow and they were all slower than hell.
Then there is the cool down lap and celebratory antics of riders. All those bikes slowing down or going slow and only one blew because of the heat?
Yeah, right. |

Yeah, right. | That's because nobody else is running that stealth turbo unit. His intercooler burnt up when he layed off the gass.
P.S.
This has got to be the longest month in MotoGP history...and we're only just over half way through it!
