Last year made it 5 consecutive wins for him there in MotoGP, plus another 2 before that (I believe in 98 and 99?) on the 250, to make it seven total wins for Vale at the track.
Hard to imagine him not finishing on the podium, unless his bike explodes or aliens come from outer space to abduct him.

Rossi is extremely superstitious about PI, especially the last turn of the last lap. He also loves that track. |

Several pages in his book are devoted to this topic. His last 2 titles were decided there. It's where he punted Gibernau in 04.
"I've won a lot of times on this track and I think I won two of the most important races of my career (here) - in 2001 the race and the (world) title of the 500cc and last year the race and the title with Yamaha," Rossi said.
"I like this track a lot and it's good for my riding style.
"It's always a great emotion to ride this bike on this track." |

--- D | With that reasoning, he'll be wining the 2099 pod racing season . (Pod as in Star Wars' pod racing, nothing to do with our Pedro "Pod") Quote:

All's I'm saying is that this is likely Valentino's strongest track. If he's going to win anywhere, it's here. Although some good competitors have come along this year, Vale has shown that when the bike's mechanically sound, he still has the competitive edge. Not the huge dominating margins of the past, but he's still the man to catch. I don't think that'll be true in 2099. By then Hopkins will likely be on a good Pod and should be placing well.
