If the pod then repassed under yellow, and then the pass completed at the next flag, thus no advantage gained under yellow... isn't that adequate? I believe that can be done in most club and AFM racing if you accidentally pass under yellow... Quote:

He just needs to go back to WSBK and stop talking to the press. | You never quit. Even when you Nickyites are whining about black helos.

I don't think that particular pass was accidental either. I honestly believe that Rossi does what he feels is required at the time and just hopes his reputation will intimidate the officials on a ruling.
He certainly has done this throughout his career. |

| Re: Phillip Island results *Spoiler* I saw the quote on Soup about the pass under waving yellow on Stoner being deemed a non-issue, but I thought the issue Nicky had raised was Rossi's pass on Pedrosa under waving yellow. Haven't seen any ruling about that yet.
Whether or not it holds up, you can definitely see Rossi holding a major grudge against Hayden for questioning it, just as he was in grudge mode against the rider and team that busted them for scooter burnouts to improve the start grip a year or two ago in Qatar. Didn't he blame Gibernau's team for ratting him out? |

CE's whining isn't even funny any longer. He is the biggest pussy MotoGP has seen in ages, and needs to just STFU and ride. Then again, he isn't up to par with the other riders in the series, which is why he'll go back to WSBK next year.
Of course, the whining will keep going there after the third weekend when he still hasn't broken the top five.
My experience in racing has been that if you cut the course and gain a position, then you slow up and get back to your previous spot all is well. If you pass under a waving yellow at all, you get the penalty, period. Rossi did it more than once and got away with it.
I'd be saying that regardless of where Rossi was in the points. Has nothing to do with your imigainary CE black helos. |

He certainly has done this throughout his career. | Wasn't the repass in the same corner? And I thought the pass being protested was the one over pedrosa where he was pulling over for the blue flag... |

The point is, if you allegedly don't "notice" the waving yellow, then you don't belong on the track. This is the sort of stuff that kills people . . . |

I believe if I remember right the rules at the AFM and WSMC are to let them back by immediately, so that's what I've been used to. Anyone have the language of the rule in Motogp? |

A lapper is pulling over or pulled over slowed down to let the leaders by and they have to jam on the brakes to stay behind him.... Check the closing speeds between Pedrosa and the others as he's pulling to the side. |

| Re: Phillip Island results *Spoiler* That was a bizzarre race. Nicky is so lucky to have gotten off his first bike, there was clearly something wrong with it. Now he has to just put his head down and keep Rossi in sight. 21 point differential with, what? 3 races to go?
How does Gibernau sleep at night? Rossi passing him in the last corner of PI again? He could have exorcised the year-and a half curse by putting #46 in the kitty litter.. Sauce for the goose, sauce for the gander.
Podrobot.. I guess that's what happens when you over-water the plants.. Couldn't happen to a nicer succubus.
ANd Carlos Chuckit's team - What a brilliant tire choice!
Is CE hurt? |

Rossi passed Stoner at the entrance to the turn before the yellow flag. The waving yellow was around the apex. I guess you guys expect Rossi to see around corners now. Where that flag was, it would be difficult to see for the riders. What is funnier is that Hayden was complaining, at the end, that Rossi passed Pedrosa on a yellow
Nice job also by Nucky after he swapped bikes. He wasn't paying attention to what he was doing and almost hit another rider on pit row exiting.

They all read the rules, some riders just don't follow them very well . . . |

I think some people just want to have a cry. |
