You just made all of us Moto GP fans weep. No fan of the sport wants to see it end on a mechanical problem. We want that last turn pass! It is gonna be exciting. If Nicky gets his clutch issues worked out then it will be close but he hasn't done **** since Laguna! He needs to get back on that podium! Rossi is coming and he won't let 12 points get in his way! |

| Re: will rossi win... Sadly I have to agree. I would love to see Nicky win it too. Mostly for the reasons stated earlier (much earlier). He's a nice guy, he rides a honda, he's American... but most of all because he's making MotoGP popular in the USA. He's in magazines, talk shows, the girls dig him... it all helps build the sport here in the state. Unfortunately... I think Rossi will prevail. I suppose I don't mind that because he is the best... like Jordan, Tiger, and Schumacher he is simply the most dominant of his time and we are witnessing something that they'll be writing about for years. |

My heart is with Nicky, but my head is with Rossi. This season has been spectacular and who ever wins would have won the best season in recent memory...
If it's Rossi, then it adds to his status as a god of the sport. He would've overcome major points deficit, mechanical DNF's, etc...
If Nicky wins, then an American takes the ultimate prize in an incredible season full of injuries, surprise Rookie sensations, contraversy, and an end of the 990 era.
We can't lose!!! |

Great points.
I guess this settles it then doesn't it.
Well, we win either way. Hopefully an american can take it home for us. The Italians won everything else this year. Can't we at least have this? |

| Re: will rossi win... Nicky put in the most laps at the Motegi test after the race, and was the only guy out there on a 990 on the second day, in the rain.
I love his work ethic and the fact that he publicly thanked his crew for staying and working with him (though they would have been disemboweled if they hadn't... still a gracious gesture)
Will hard work and determination beat superhuman talent?
I hope so.. ****, I count on that every day! Quote: From Crash.net
The 25-year-old American, who will start the final two rounds of the 2006 season with a shaky 12 point lead over reigning five-times champion Valentino Rossi, completed 54 laps on his 'evolution' RC211V, trimming his best lap-time on race tyres down to a 1min 47.18secs.
That narrowly beats Valentino Rossi's new lap record in Sunday's Japanese Grand Prix and is 0.615secs better than the American's race best, on his way to a frustrating fifth placed finish. Hayden has been hampered by clutch problems, causing poor starts and corner entry difficulties, for most of the season and confirmed that he and his team had been working hard to finally find a solution.
"We spent the morning evaluating some machine settings and testing a few more clutch ideas so that were ready for these last two races,"

| Re: will rossi win... Ummm, no. Why? Because let's face the facts, on a Honda Rossi became the king, he left and while Honda scrambled to fill his shoes he managed to win it on a Yamaha, this year the Yamaha TEAM is failing while Nicky is consistant and the RC is amazing. The only mistake Rossi made was leaving Honda, he is still in my opinion the best rider, you'd have to be to keep a Yami in the standings. (Kidding, lighten up!) seriously thou, I'll give 2-1 on Hayden. Why are Honda's three of the top five (Sept.27th)? The same reason I own two Hondas (A civic and a 900RR), because they are the best! |

Gotta love Hayden, but I reckon Rossi has got it in him. The magic will come out strong in the next 3 rounds.

Cheers,
Dave aka ICHSNOO | There are only two rounds left.
While it is Nicky's to lose, I do feel that Rossi has given himself the momentum needed to overcome the points.
All Nicky has to do is finish right with him both rounds and he'll claim the title.
Here's to hoping he can do so. |

| Re: will rossi win... It seems to me that when the M1 and the Honda are both working reasonably well, Nicky can hang close with Rossi, though he isn't yet his equal.
So if HRC gets serious about the clutch issues, he has a great chance. Or put another way, if he loses 12 points in 2 rounds, it will likely be because Honda screwed up. |
