I would agree that he was never completely comfortable during his time in MotoGP, but I dont think he needs to be around inferiour riders to shine. Weve seen many a time when a certain rider does nothing in MotoGP (and other classes) then all of sudden after long periods of mediocrity a small change is made and the rider suddenly becomes a consistant front runner..
There are a fair few examples of this at the moment.
Hopefully Bayliss's blistering form will carry over from Superbike, hes been there before and was starting to get a few good results before he departed the Ducati MotoGP squad last time, also the bikes have improved (more user friendly) since he was there last So hopefully he will put on a good performance!
Im probably just being a little patriotic, but I think he will be really keen to show that hes not "just" the best Superbike rider on the planet
