I'm kinda surprised by the Ohlins sticker. |

I liked this quote from the site... Quote: Estoril 15/10/06:
The goal was quite simply to finish the race, Australian ride Garry McCoy went one better putting in a consistent performance to bring MotoGP’s newest team Ilmor SRT, their first Championship point and making history in process – today was the first time a 800cc capacity bike has scored a point in the MotoGP series. |

With the end it looks like IR, but why do you care what the temp of the forkbottom is? |

I seem to recall a team last year that was experimenting with a traction control sensor that "sensed" relative velocity of the pavement itself....being nearly along the contact patch axis this makes sense, but the sensor head just doesn't "look" right for that...
Probly a mo' simple explanation....

| Re: Nice Ilmor wallpaper... Wheel speed sensors? Get differential speeds to compute wheel spin or lock? They appear to be too far from the wheels to get a good reading, but |

Wheelie control. I think TC would be a detriment to McCoy. |

| Re: Nice Ilmor wallpaper... RIght. And I don't think a wheelie control system could work strictly with WSSs without being a TC system at the same time. It would need to measure the distance from the ground, like with an IR sensor. But then I'm still just guessing.

| Re: Nice Ilmor wallpaper... The location of these things seems to suggest they are part of an ETC scheme, but the shape and angle doesn't really jibe with that..
Any miniature Dopplers that I have seen are cylindrical...not that Ilmor couldn't have made them in another form factor, but they just don't look "right" to be Dopplers...
Anyone out there with some insight...
