Heavy-Dee : Man, for having admitted numerous times that Ben was wrong and then changing my opinion on whether I would have moved over or not, I sure am getting a beating in this thread. *
You guys that bored or something?
| It's all good Dee, don't pay any attention to the 'board sage' (actually that should be 'bored sagebrush'). |

| Re: 600 Race @ Barber Heck, I haven't responded to this thread since about noon yesterday, so I hope you don't think I've been beating you over the head with it. I respect your opinion and your ability to look at things from a different angle when presented with new angles.
As far as the stuff I was saying about Ben, Miguel, Kurtis...I highly respect all those guys...I mainly drag them around to chum the waters for BDA. He's been suprisingly quiet on this topic....I thought for sure the 'has' Ben comment would have him circling the wagons
But if anyone's read any of my more serious posts on racing, there's not a rider in the paddock I don't respect. I think they all do a phenominal job. |

| Re: 600 Race @ Barber I dont think anyone is taking a beating, and i think it is great that everyone can ultimately respect one anothers opinion. Now that i read my post i realize it WAS a bit abrupt, and i promise i didnt mean for it to be.

John Jacobi On Superbike Pile-up In Race Two At Barber

FIRST PERSON/OPINION
Via e-mail:
In response to the Barber crash:
I will not take any of the blame for the mishap at Barber. It is obvious on the replays that I didn’t intend to turn in on Ben (Bostrom) nor did I know he was there.
My race is just as important to my team and me as to the factories and their riders. I have all the respect in the world for their riding abilities, but I should not be made out to look like the slow, incompetent rider. I have raced in enough World and National Endurances races to know all about lapped riders and yes, blue flags are part of the solution.
The AMA sets the criteria to be able to compete in Superbike races. Kurtis lapped up to 12th place and every rider from 12th back meets those criteria.
In racing, split-second decisions are made and mistakes do happen. Racing also requires taking responsibility for your actions when you make a mistake.

| Re: 600 Race @ Barber watched the incident last night and did the slow-motion thing - first of all, Jacobi was the innermost rider of a group going THREE WIDE into the corner, w/Mizdal and then Miguel on the outside...
Arguments about backmarkers and blueflags aside, just where the hell was Jacobi supposed to go?? Was watching the replay and Ben looks like he just banzai's in there with no real plan... it was foolish and TOTALLY BENS fault imho... |

| Re: 600 Race @ Barber Yea I watched that replay as well. It looked to me that he went WAY to hard on the breaks. On the other hand if you watch, the rearend whips around rather quick, which would tell me there was throttle involved or rearbreak.
Either way a better arguement looms. Did you read what higbee had to say about Mladin? That was GREAT!!! Although reading Mats response I think Mat does make a valid point. Higbee Mladin
And for those who pay attention I hate Mladin. So agreeing with him is very very hard for me. |

| Re: 600 Race @ Barber Yup, Ben screwed up. My question is what will happen to Miguel? He had a lack luster season and Honda did not sign him. He needed the potential Barber win to get a job with Honda (or someone else). No wonder he was POed at BBoz. |
