| MotoGP Testing Begins - Ducati MELBOURNE, Jan 31 (Reuters) - Ducati dominated the second day of pre-season MotoGP testing at Phillip Island on Wednesday with Brazilian veteran Alex Barros setting the pace on the new 800cc machhine.
Barros lapped in one minute 30.01 seconds for the Pramac D'Antin team, inside the circuit record and ahead of works Ducati riders Loris Capirossi of Italy and Australian Casey Stoner.
"The 800cc bikes are much more fun here compared to the 990s last year because now I can use 100 percent of the power, before it was only 85 percent," said Capirossi.
"This is why we are quicker already with a smaller engine. If the race was tomorrow, I would have a faster race pace than on the old 990 bikes."
American world champion Nicky Hayden, still recovering from shoulder surgery at the end of last year, was sixth fastest for Honda.
Italian Valentino Rossi's Yamaha team did not attend the test at the island circuit.
The season starts in Qatar on March 10.
