| Re: Why do they call it the Silly Season? It's called silly season because it's that time of year where contract negotiations are either beginning, or ending with current / future employers. In Roger Lee Hayden's case, it looks as though he'll be riding for Kawasaki. Does that mean he'll be riding as teamate to his brother Tommy and fellow Team Green rider Tony Meiring? Or will Meiring or Roger Lee go to the Attack team, who is currently leaving Suzuki and negotiating with Kawasaki?
Will Ruben Xaus come to the AMA? If so, will he ride on Michelin or Dunlop?
Is Yamaha going to run in superbike, or will they stay with superstock?
What about Rossi? He hasn't signed with Honda, yet, so does that mean that he's close to jumping over to Ducati? If he leaves, who will be Honda's numero uno? Gibernau? Most likely. Is Alex barros going to stay with Yamaha? Is he going to retire? Who is McCoy talking to?, *hint* it's not Kawasaki!
There's lots more to speculate about, but you get the idea now. |

| Re: Why do they call it the Silly Season? Because it is indeed silly, so many phucking rumors, much like the rumor that BDA's new R1 will make 180HP. In many cases, it's like a rumor gives way to more rumors, and more than generous speculation. The silly season, is the new bike speculation, and contract negotiation of racing contracts worldwide. The silly season is in full swing this year, Rossi is going to Ducati already even though a contract hasn't been signed, same for Ruben coming to the AMA championship, the new Blade is underpowered and overweight, and the new R1 is the new all conquering literclass motorcycle. |
