Not to put Nicky down, I think he is doing well and hope he does better, but he got third by default after Tamada was disqualified. He did have a run a good race and I kinda thought Tamada was being aggresive, mainly with Nicky. He paid for it on the pass he put on Sete. I just wish Edwards could get up there and run with front runners also. |

| Re: MOTEGI! In a way, yes it was by default.
But Nicky ran with the leaders all day. Tamada was riding a bit over his head, and was nearly out of control both when he passed Nicky and when he tried to ram Sete off the track. Had Sete not been there to be a berm for Tamada, he would have run off the track and crashed. Would it be third by default if Tamada would have crashed out, taking Sete with him?
Nicky said it himself that he would rather have a proper podium, but he'll take the third place anyday.
Max gave himself a cushion at the beginning when Rossi ran off the track, but never really pulled out any further on the others - even with them swapping positions.
Overall a great race. I'd like to see Nicky get on the box all by himself, but just watching him hold his own today was pretty neat.
I wonder if Rossi will be able to pull his magic off next year on the Yamaha? |

| Re: MOTEGI! How about Hopper being DQed and banned from the next race
I thought Tamada was way over his head. Nicky looked great out there, I think his style was difficult for Rossi to find a good path around. |

| Re: MOTEGI! It was a great race, watching Rossi pull back from about 10th back to 2nd was amazing, goes to show that he can really do amazing things when he has to. Good job to Nicky, thought he did well, and I think he will be one of the top riders in the years to come.
Hope to se emor eliek this in th elast few races of the season

| Re: MOTEGI! Hopper's GF sounds off (MCNews.com)
also - don't know if this has been posted yet but Colin got a push out of the gravel trap by Baliss - how cool is he?? COLIN EDWARDS: 'I arrived in the first corner and saw there was not enough space to pass going out in the gravel. I was able to rejoin the race even if my rear tyre was subsiding in the gravel. So the race marshals did not help me and my friend Troy Bayliss (crashed as well) drove me till the asphalt. Thanks! Then my gap was enormous but I kept on riding cause till the end to test the new Michelin front tyre.'
I think Nicky did great but he looked (comparatively) slow coming off the corners - maybe cause he was running the hard rear like Rossi (who STILL hasn't signed). Good stuff but I think he cooked his tires catching up to the 2nd place pack.
Also think Tamada AND Hopper both got stiffed - I've seen a LOT worse this year than that and nothing was done about it... |

| Re: MOTEGI! Rossi is the man, no doubt about it. *Still just a man on a bike though evident by the mistake. *Nice to see that he can remain human time to time.
He's getting quite a team there. *Ole' Nicky is comin' along pretty darn well. *He is out there running just ticks slower than fellows that have been to these tracks several times. *I'm happy to see that he's very successful in his first year. *I wouldn't any American rider to flop on his face. *I want em' all to show American speed. *Now come on Colin!
I feel bad for Hopper. *He's trying to make up for what's lacking and that is hard to do. *Sometimes what seemed like a good idea, goes BAD! |

| Re: MOTEGI! She really needs to shut her mouth. She doesn't help his situation at all. John F'ed up, it happens. I think he's doing all he can with a crap bike. There are much dirtier riders out there, but oh well.
Did anyone else hear the announcer, Rossi is most likely to go to Yamaha!!! WTF!! |

If Rossi is thinking about going to Yamaha, then that must mean that they have another bike on the horizon. |

| Or he wants to prove he can do it on any bike, not just a Honda.

| Re: MOTEGI! Here's what Edwards thinks about Hopper's punishment: Bullshit Bullshit!!!!!
That's all I can say about the whole weekend at Motegi. From the first turn crash to Tamada and Hopper's DQ. I guess they don't want us to race anymore. 'You guys just go do circles for a few laps, but don't dare rub paint or you will be DQed' Bullshit!! I guess that means Troy and I should have been DQed on a number of occasions the last couple years.
gotta say I agree... and if it was someone riding, say, a honda, who took out a few other guys I bet nothing would have happend... |

I think he's crazy if he leaves honda. The Yamaha sucks big time. Barros could win and beat Rossi on a honda. but what is he doing now????
its a lot more than the rider IMO |
