Donnington MotoGP **SPOILER**

In tricky wet and dry conditions Australian Casey Stoner the current leader of the world championship took win number 5 for the 2007 season at Donnington. The Australian extends his championship lead by 26 points. Colin Edwards finished in second place with Australian Chris Vermeulen in third rounding out the top three. Stoner had a shocking start and at the end of lap 1 had made his way back to 7th position, from there it took just a few more laps to work his way back through the field and eventaully take the lead and control of the race at the halfway mark. Ducatti MotoGP manager Livio Stucco later describing 21 year old stoner as a "genius".

Ive said this after each of Stoners wins - he is looking like the world champ.
Being an aussie there is a lot of interest back home but also some nay-sayers who say that he just has the better bike, specifically a better top speed. Well he not only is well ahead of Capirossi but he has won in conditions where more power or top end doesnt help.

And Hayden is looking a total spent force. Is he going to be another Roberts Jnr - a world champ who then fades quickly.

Last season was good with a close title fight, but it was won (or lost!) by errors. This season is looking like it will be Stoner and Rossi battling over wins. Damn this is great!

Stoner is looking very consistent out there, and although ya have to give some credit to Ducati.... I was impressed with the last race when he dueled with Rossi. Probably one of the best races I've ever seen. My wife thought I was possessed while watching it.

I really wish Hayden could make it a little more interesting while he has the #1 plate.

Either way, the racing should be awesome this year which of course, is better for the sport.

Gotta love it alright!!
5 wins from 8 races,a bike alone couldnt win those races,Stoner is a "genius" with this bike, they work well together and thats what wins races.
As jhonda41 says, wish Hayden was doing better with the #1 plate though.
