| Re: Is Valentino Rossi Finished? News from Europe.
Valentino just got back in form at the right time. His agent is negotiating a new 2 year deal with Yamaha. It is rumored that Rossi is offered 7 million Euro/year and a 2 year contract
Additional sponsors are interested to join his team as well. 2 banks and a tele communication company are offering big $$ to possibly replace FIAT as main sponsor. |

Rossi, Lorenzo - not sure who to call next Pedrosa or Stoner, cos Stoners wringing the crap outta that Ducatti. Leave it like that.
At least the lollipop kid has a little character. Rossi (like Nitro) is gonna b hard to replace. These guys are soooo serious! |

Once again you seem to follow me around and post negatives regarding my post, its too early because the top 5 are all within striking distance from each other.
There is no ONE rider that is dominating over any other rider out there. if there was one that was say 140 points ahead of anybody else, then you could make the statement and say that Rossi will win. But lets see,,since Rossi didnt win on Sunday and Dani keeps posting in the top three and now that Stoner is coming back into the game and I highly doubt that ANY ONE rider will walk away with the win,,espically at this point of the season.
So anyone who can perform simple math skills could look at the points and have the basic understanding with so many races left its hard to say at this point that one rider can walk away with the win. I honestly think its Dani's year and I hate to say that, because I am not a fan, but he is consistant,,but then again so is Rossi.
Too close to tell and pltcd1 this is my last response to your crap , grow up and quit following me around,,,its getting old. Thanks! |

| Re: Is Valentino Rossi Finished? There was nothing negative regarding what I said about your statement. So take a deep breath and relax... Here, have some Anyone, at any time, can voice their opinion, on who they think will win the MotoGP title, regardless of what point in the season it is.
If dan.slabbert wants to voice his opinion, that Rossi is going to win the title, he is perfectly free, and right, to do so, whenever he chooses to do so. Dan believes Rossi will win the title, and he is not wrong for stating that even with the points as close as they are. You seem to be saying that he should not state that opinion, because Rossi doesnt have a commanding points lead, but then you say you think its Dani's year, and he isnt even leading in points...
So, should I tell you that its too early in the season to say anyone will win??? Hmmm... I would never tell you that, because thats your opinioin and you are entitled to it, just like dan or anyone else, is entitled to state who they feel will win, at this point in the season.
Its clear that Rossi isnt finished. |

| Re: Is Valentino Rossi Finished? It's definitely hard to say who will win it this year... Rossi is the man, no one can deny it at this point! Let Burgess & crew keep making progress with the Yamaha and there will be no stopping him...
It's great to see Dani doing well, I have to say, even though his blah personality doesn't win any fans. He did have a major crash during testing and had to be taken in to a hospital.. Supposedly hurt his back?
With Lorenzo breaking his ankles, Pedrosa with back injuries, everyone knock on wood for Rossi & Stoner...
ON another note, I'd like to say how nice the track is out at Miller MSP in SLC.. That is a sweet track that I'd definitely like to ride around on someday. It sucked to see Bayliss crash and have bike problems, but overall the racing in AMA was actually pretty fun to watch as well (Maladin crashed out). Can't wait to see Spies try out a GP bike!! |

| Re: Is Valentino Rossi Finished? Woah swanman, slow down & reel your horns in man!!!!!!!!!! "wtf did that come from" - to coin a phrase in reply to my posting which was the 3rd on this thread (11/29/07) started by orgowner.
I race & I believe theres a certain amount of luck involved in this sport (good & bad) over & above the other factors like skill & balls. I was merely expressing MY opinion as ptlcb1 noted - I firmly believe it, but hey thats me & u r all welcome to your own - I might have a chirp but it remains your opinion, which others can maybe influence, but not change. It is after all a democracy!
Getting back to my 1st post that got so many folk excited - what i meant was that Rossi is a bit of a clown (like Haga, who I also like) & I don't believe he has a low self esteem, so he showboats & clowns a lot (funny hairstyles - remember the long ringlets from 125 days, funny hair colours, like the italian flag from 250 days, wheelies, burnouts & how 'bout the new helmet?). This detracts from his awesome capabilities. All these machines have traction control - who could ride a raw motorcycle without injection & a computer? Probably Stoner & Loris C are the only other now that Checa & Barros have departed.
Anyway swanman, i could equally use ur mathematical argument to say that because no one is over 100 points ahead & Rossi is doing well (leading actually) theres no reason why he can't win.
IN CLOSING I'D LIKE TO NOTE THAT WHEN THE POLL WAS STARTED IN NOV 07, THE YAMAHA WAS CRAP & ROSSI CAME 3RD IN THE CHAMPSHIP. EDWARDS, A MAN OF CONSIDERABLE ABILITY, WAS THE NEXT YAM IN 9th! THE POLL LOOKS A WHOLE LOT DIFFERENT AS OF TODAY, WITH MOST PEOPLE VOTING IN FAVOUR OF ROSSI - AT THE TIME I VOTED FOR HIM IT WAS QUITE THE OPPOSITE & I FELT LIKE JOHN THE BAPTIST (A VOICE IN THE WILDERNESS). PEOPLE SURE ARE FICKLE!!!!!!!!!!
Nah, the new guys take themselves far too seriously & have no personality - smile & live a little, 'cos in this game u might well be crippled or dead tomorrow, only God knows. Lorenzo has obvious skill & seems a bit of a laff - hope he keeps his humour after the mishaps so i got somebody to support when VR retires.
BTW, good post orgowner!!!!!!!!! who'da thought it would generate this much discussion? Leastways bikers r passionate!

| I'm going to add Hayden to that list as well. He likes to slide the bike around. Growing up a dirt tracker will do that to you.
