| Is Valentino Rossi Finished? Lets take a poll and some feedback on this question. Will Rossi win another world title or has the torch been passed? |

| Re: Is Valentino Rossi Finished? I say yes but they gotta get the bike done properly. last 2 years he pretty much lost the title because the bike let him down. If he didn't have the mechanical DNFs he woulda taken the title last year. This year probably not because Stoner and the Duc steam rolled everyone but it woulda been a better battle.

| Re: Is Valentino Rossi Finished? Are u outta yer mind?! I agree with McLovin - the bike is way off the mark. Obviously people know that in 07 Yamaha are crap - there are only 4 in MotoGP. Now let's look at how they did:
Rossi - 3rd (coulda not broke, coulda ....yadda yadda yadda....... )
Edwards - 9 (good rider, no slouch)
Sylvain Guintoli - 16 (who?)
Makoto Tamada - 18
The Suzuki's of Hopkins (4th) & Vermeulen (6th) were better. Good grief! Even the Kawa's managed 11 (de Puniet) & 15 (Ant West).
So currently Yamaha is a croc & they are lucky to have the Doctor to give them some kind of representation seeing as a good rider like Edwards could only manage 9th!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Final word - Rossi has changed from Michelin to Bridgestone (same tyre as Stoner). Check out the www - VR just lapped Jerez 2nd fastest on his Crudahaha, 0.293 s behind Stoner on the Duke!!!!!!!!!!!!
Get real, watch the replays, forget the showboating stunts/wheelies & see the greatest natural biker of all time in action - u just might learn something, but stop looking at only the wheelies & stoppies |

| Re: Is Valentino Rossi Finished? In Moto Gp just like everything, manufacturers will go through good times and bad. Ducati and Honda are just better at it. I'm sure the Yamahas will be competitive once again next season especially if the tire situation is better. Who knows, maybe Michelin will end up having one up on Bridgestone in 2008. Looks like Honda's new bike will be much better especially for Nicky. One thing is for sure, don't count out #46 |

I don't think Yamaha has it in them. Rossi is a development rider and Yamaha is having issues engineering and manufacturing what he needs. Honda didn't have an issue.
Yamaha has had more bad times than good. Look at their past history and long dry spells? |

I TOTTALY AGREE.Next year is make or brake for Rossi.Just like to know what is going to happen if he doesent make it cause his contract expires next year .Is he going to retire or not.I read a article where he said he will not retire cause he cant do anything else, but then i saw he won some rally for the third year.Well if Rossi doesnt make it my money is on PEDROSA. |

| Re: Is Valentino Rossi Finished? Im on the fence - not because I think Rossi is past it, but I think he needs to be on a competitive bike. Gone are the days when he could be on a scooter and still win!
He came 2nd this year - well ahead of the defending champion.
I think he will be in the top 3 next year and if you are there abouts and have a bit of luck you can win.
So I think its up to the bike - the rider is definitely not the weak link in the combo. |

| Pedrosa was 2nd this year. Rossi was 3rd.

| Re: Is Valentino Rossi Finished? He's 29 in Feb 08 & still the best rider in MotoGP. He is also not short of testicular fortitude. Figure he could still afford another year on an uncompetitive bike & still do it in 09 if he contracts to a competent team (like Honda!)
Anyone know more about this rumour re: Ferrari F1 though? Sadly he'll eventually end up being a cager. |

| Re: Is Valentino Rossi Finished? "It has been confirmed that Valentino Rossi will be in Formula 1 in 2007, but will it be with Ferrari? The 6-Time MotoGP World Champion has not yet confirmed what team he will race for, but he will definitely be with a front of the field team." "Well, possibly not Ferrari, but Rossi will be in Formula 1 for the 2007 season. It has been clear for quite some time that the 6-Time MotoGP World Champion, wants to race in Formula 1 and it now seems that he is finally ready. Rossi's boss at his Yamaha MotoGP team, Davide Brivio, announced that Rossi has signed a contract extension for 2006 but after that he will be in Formula 1. "We have already agreed on a one-year contract and we know that from 2007 he will be in Formula One." While a move to Ferrari is definitely possible for Rossi, as he has tested for the Scuderia in the past, nothing is certain as of yet. One must also ask the question of whether Rossi is good enough to be in Formula 1? As we all know, bikes and cars are completely different and while there has been racers who have done very well on both two and four wheels, it is a huge transition. One racer in particular, John Surtees, won the Formula 1 World Championship and also on several different occasions, took top honors in motorcycling as well. While it is likely that Rossi will be fast, will he be fast enough for Ferrari and Formula 1?" Ferrari 1 - Valentino Rossi To Ferrari For 2007
I know its old news(2005) and it seems like it was wrong.. UM it was wrong..

| Re: Is Valentino Rossi Finished? I think that now with Bridgestones he cant complain about tires, even if Michelin does come up with better buns and as for the machine this is Yamaha's chance to get it right and hope to keep Rossi after 08 with his contract up in 09. in my opinion Rossi is still the best, you cant forget all the races he won on the M1 machine even being well underpowered compared to the RC211V of the satellite Honda squads.
I hope to see the doc. around for at least another 4 to 5 seasons. |
