Kenny Roberts is trying to finalise a lucrative big-money sponsorship deal to secure the lease of two Ducati GP7 machines, which would see Ducati icrease its involvement in the premier MotoGP class to six bikes.

Roberts is pinning his hopes on the Ducati lease deal after it was confirmed that his British-based team would split from Honda at the end of the season.
A deal with Ducati would likely be to lease complete GP7 machinery and not just engines. Team Roberts’ 2008 plans centre around a two rider team but at this point in time riders have not been named until a deal is formalised.
