... Austria. I just read that Dietrich Mateschitz, the owner of Red Bull, started to restore the dilapidated Austrian Ring (A1) in Spielberg.

In the past F1 and other races took place and Mateschitz wants to continue this tradition. The race track is in terrible shape but Mateschitz said that by the end of this year it will be ready for possible F1 and MotoGP races. He will try to add 75 race days to the track.

I remember that MotoGP races took place near Salzburg (125, 250, 500 ccm and side car) at another race track and this somehow stopped in the past. Now, with the restoration of the A1 race track the MotoGP tradition could be restored. I would like that since I remember how jammed these races were and how great the atmosphere was.

That was a nice circuit in a lovely settin...they should bring it back!!!!

They are talking about having a race in Russia as well. I guess everyone is trying to get in on the action.
