World Superbike-Valencia-Race 1

Did anyone see this race today? Speed Channel only showed Race 1. What a race Carlos Checa had on the Ten Kate Honda! If he could only take back the last corner of the last lap....

To finish first, first you got to finish.

The only way he was going to make that pass, was to lock up the rear and pitch it sideways, motocross style, and square off the turn. He had a great run to get up to the front, putting down some fast laps! I think its safe to say, we will see Checa and the Ten Kate bike up front from now on, as long as he doesnt get too excited again! I think he could have out ran that gsxr to the line...

Re: World Superbike-Valencia-Race 1

That was stupid. Neukirchner was robbed. Don't get me wrong, Checa rode brilliant till that last turn, but he knew better than that. He's been racing far too long to try desperate moves like that, I don't care how close you are to winning.

Neukirchner rode a great race, was looking at his first #1 finish and was one of the last Suzuki's out there, just to have it, literally, knocked out from under him.

Either way, that's racing! It was entertaining and I gotta admit I was kinda hoping Checa could pull it off 12th to First, how amazing. But I thought he should have conceded that corner coming into it.

How about Lanzi though? From fourth to first in one corner! Did anyone catch what happened to Bayliss in the last corner to give up his third place spot?

Kind of reminds me of this.

I wonder if any type of penalty will be given to Checa. That was crazy. I think he should have waited, then drafted him on the straight! I do feel for Neukirchner. He rode hard as well, but to be taken out like that, was not cool. I thought we were going to see a Nascar fist fight in the sand trap!!! LOL But i read that Neukirchner broke his collarbone...
