| Re: Silverstone?? i don't think it is replacing donnington. i think silverstone bosses have put forward a plan to stage moto gp, donnington has had a lot of bad press over the last few years, so it could just be opportunistic on the part of silverstone. access, facilities and overpricing have been the issues at donnington for years and the fans are getting pissed off with it. saying that, it's a great track and i don't think anyone wants it dropped from moto gp. if the circuit owners spent the cash on the improvments needed it would be on the calender for many years to come. i believe silverstone want it as a second british round, china may be dropped. silverstone needs improving to continue running f1, so i think they see cashing in on the rise in moto gp popularity as a way of gaining finances to upgrade the place to ensure they continue to stage formula 1. |
