Fogarty Angry Over Hodgson Comments
From a press release issued by Foggy Petronas Racing:
Carl Fogarty has reacted angrily to comments from new World Superbike champion Neil Hodgson that he was ‘scared of taking on Mick Doohan in GPs’.
The comments, published this week in Motorcycle News, have infuriated the four-times World Superbike champion.
Hodgson, who has joined the D’Antin team in MotoGP for next season, was quoted as saying: “I don’t fear Rossi liked Foggy feared Doohan. Carl would never admit that but that’s probably why he never took up the challenge. He talked about it but never did it. But I’m going to do it. I want to be judged against the best riders in the world and that means in MotoGP.”
But Carl countered: “I think it’s a cowardly comment. The simple truth is that I never got a chance to ride in GPs. I would have loved to have been given that chance, because I was certainly never scared of anyone on the track.
“It’s cowardly because I can’t go out there and race anymore and do anything about it. And people will know for sure that it’s an absolute lie. They will realize that Neil is trying hard not to be boring.
“He has a long way to go before he can be mentioned in the same breath of me. He has won nothing yet – he was given the World Superbike title this year.” |

| Re: Faggarty and Hodgson are arguing I agree with your attitude comment on Carl Fogerty. But you have to agree, Hodgson was given the WSC title this year.
I really like Hodgson and I hope he makes me eat these words, but I really don't think he is even remotely comparable to Foggy. |

| Re: Faggarty and Hodgson are arguing Those were pretty stupid remarks for Hodgson to make, especially since what does Hodgson stand to gain from making them. I agree with Repsol, Hodgson seems to be a good dude, and a solid rider, but he's no Foggy at this point!!! Comments like that, he better hope he doesn't get his @SS handed to him this coming season by the GP regulars. Just stoooopid!!! |

| I never disagreed. I just posted it because I can't stand Faggarty, at all. When CE won the WSBK crown, Faggarty said he wasn't a real champion and so on, didn't hear a peep from him after he won the championship last year going head to head with Bayliss, whom I respect also. Hodgson is being a bitch, and well, Faggarty always was a bitch |

| Re: Faggarty and Hodgson are arguing Booth, you know about Edwards' and Fogarty's past, don't you?
When Colin placed second in the championship and Fogarty said that he didn't have what it took to win the title?
You know what Fogarty named his dog, right? Colin.
Foggy is a prick. He won his string of titles because he was on the bike that had the full advantage of the rules. He made the switch to Honda for a year aboard the RC45 (Honda was basically giving him a tryout for a GP move) and couldn't do jack. He was just another top fiver. Of course he blamed the bike for his problems, the same bike that Koscinski was able to take a title on.
Foggy is a one-bike rider. Yes, he's got a bunch of wins and titles, but he's not the great he thinks he is. |

| Re: Faggarty and Hodgson are arguing Oh yes, I know all about his phuckin' hound. *Faggarty was always giving CE lip, saying he wasn't and what not. *I 100% agree with what you said, feel the same way, and can't stand the sumbitch.
Edit: I remember the '00 championship. That is the year Faggarty said that Colin wasn't a real champion, after he won the championship. What was funny was the beginning of the season, before Faggy wrecked and ended his career. Colin was up front, Faggarty was mid pack and couldn't keep up. He reminds me so much of Mladin. |

| Re: Faggarty and Hodgson are arguing Never could stand Fogarty. The whole hating America thing kinds sticks in my craw. I expect most racers to have some level of arrogance; what they do takes a high level of self-confidence. Foggy was a little much though.
